When maximum control of tooth movement is desired, rectangular loops are the first choice for intrasegmental alignment, due to their simplicity and large range of activation.
A low load-deflection rate enables the clinician to deliver relatively constant forces and moments throughout the orthodontic treatment, and allows tooth movement to proceed without frequent monitoring and appliance adjustments.

The abnormal superior labial frenum has been described anatomically. The abnormal frenum may be expected to occur only at very infrequent intervals; thus care should be exercised by the diagnostician, so as not to classify the normal as abnormal, or to assume that the frenum is abnormal simply because it may be enlarged or hypertrophied, or to assume that the frenum is abnormal simply because of the incidental presence of a midline diastema of the teeth.

The aligners are plastic replicas of your teeth. Wearing them puts gentle pressure on the teeth, ever-so-slightly repositioning them. It is recommended aligners be worn 22 hours a day, or as prescribed by the orthodontist. Each set of aligners is worn for a week or two before going to the next set.

Balancing the extraction of primary teeth is a procedure advocated to maintain symmetry of the developing dentition by encouraging symmetrical drift of teeth mesial and distal to the extraction sites on each side of the dental arch.

but spaced dentitions is likely to have most effect on centre lines. The more crowded the dentition, the more the need for balance.
With regard to a primary first molar, a balancing extraction may be needed in a
crowded arch Compensation is not needed. In the event that unbalanced
extraction of a primary canine or first molar has already occurred, one of three
situations will apply.
• No centreline shift. Do not balance.
• Centreline shift with complete space closure. Delay balancing until a full
orthodontic assessment is made.
• Centreline shift with spacing remaining mesial to the extraction site. Monitor to
determine whether tooth movement is continuing: if so seek orthodontic advice.

The extraction of the lower incisors consti-
tutes a therapeutic alternative in treating cer-
tain anomalies. It is not a standard approach
to symmetrically treating most malocclusions,
but in certain clinical situations the therapeutic aims must be adjusted to individual patientneeds-even when this means that achieved final occlusion is not ideal.

The maxillary lateral incisor is the second most common congenitally absent tooth. There are three treatment options that exist for replacing missing lateral incisors. They include canine substitution, a tooth-supported restoration, or a single-tooth implant.
