A six-member High Level delegation comprising of Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Agriculture and Private Sector from Republic of Mali visited the Karachi Cotton Association last Wednesday and met Mr. Muhammad Atif Dada, Chairman, the KCA, members of the Executive Committee and senior members of the Cotton Trade.
Mr. Muhammad Atif Dada, chairman, the KCA Welcomed the participants of the meeting and discussed in detail the ongoing ban on import of Mali’s Cotton in Pakistan and brief the mechanism to meet the requirements for lifting the ban. The delegation also discussed the Role of Plant Protection for phytosanitary controls & Ministry of Agriculture etc. in this regard.
They also discussed the possibilities of increasing mutual trade and investment between the two countries. It was suggested to the delegation that after the lifting of ban, the Republic of Mali could import value-added textile products from Pakistan using cotton imported from Mali to Pakistan.
Mr. Rizwan Umer, Vice Chairman, the KCA thanked the delegation for visiting the Association for resolving high level issues between two Countries.
