Indus Artists Relief Fund
Indus Artists Relief Fund
Call for flood relief and recovery for the creative individuals affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan
Flash flooding from the heavy rains has washed away cities, villages, crops, roads and bridges. 70% areas of Sindh and Balochistan remain cut off due to floods. In these hard times, We humbly request those who love the arts and cultural scene, to donate for the local artists, indie art spaces, and forums, to meet their most urgent needs and to ensure the longevity of the rich arts, cultures, and traditions of Sindh and Balochistan in Pakistan.
The Indus Artists Relief Fund (IARF) is initiated to support the local artists who have been affected and suffered significant loss to their livelihoods, whether by loss of equipments, places, workspaces, or future income opportunities (exhibitions, recording, gigs, projects, workshops, supplies etc.) The funds will be used to provide immediate assistance with flood recovery, clean-up, replacement of lost or damaged equipments, renewal of workspaces, procurement of art-related materials, to assist in the immediate resumption of practice, and to provide basis necessities such as Food bags, Tents, Medical supplies and in the temporary resettlement.
This relief fund seeks to support artists and their work during this difficult time and is open to all practicing artists, irrespective of medium of practice. Including but
not limited to folk singers, instrumentalists, local artisans, writers, poets, painters, sculptors, printmakers, and performers. Grants to local artists will be based on the amount of funds raised during the campaign.
