One of the rarest and most endangered mushroom species on this planet.
π· by
It's the elusive wrinkled peach mushroom (Rhodotus palmatus).
With the decline of ash wood and elm trees throughout Europe and Britain, these majestic mushrooms are increasingly becoming rarer and more endangered.
If you're wondering, the red sap-like substance is called "guttation", which is basically the mushroom's way of purging excess water as it grows.
This beauty is a digitalis campanulata (foxglove). The Latin word digitalis means finger and the blossoms of this flower fit the human finger almost perfectly. But the flowers and leaves are highly toxic, and this plant should not be grown in areas frequented by children.........Please support us by following our page, Thanks.........

I think this is my all time favorite photo that I have taken. This is a hairy frogfish in the waters of Lembeh, Indonesia, taken with a snoot at night. I was lucky to find this beautiful animal and go back on a night dive to get this shot. He/she was sitting at a depth of 70 feet, with a slight current that helped lift the hairs the way they are shown.β£

π· & π by bugDreamer.com // Porcupinefishes have the ability to inflate and blow up to a greater proportion by swallowing large quantities of either water or air. This allows the fish to grow to almost three times their normal size, thereby making it impossible for many predators to hunt them. They also have long spines which radiate outwards when they are inflated. Apart from these two defenses, a lot of the porcupinefishes are also poisonous. Thus, owing to these factors they do not have too many predators!

This great Blue Heron worked on this writhing eel for some time before it felt comfortable in swallowing it, but even when it did, I could see it wriggling as it went down the long neck.

I saw this Anna's Hummingbird yesterday. It is crazy how early in the year they start breeding - February! They lay up to three clutches per season. This photo doesn't really get across just how tiny the nest is.
