We're live with a highly distinguished Data Science expert Dr. Bushra Anjum for a conversation on "Data Science and Advanced Analytics during and beyond Covid-19".
Bushra Anjum, Ph.D., is a Health IT data specialist currently working as the Data Analytics Manager at a San Francisco based startup Doximity. Aimed at creating HIPAA secure tools for clinicians, she leads a team of analysts, scientists, and engineers working on product and client-facing analytics. Dr. Anjum also makes key contributions to data projects directly, from data ingestion to analysis to recommendations, by employing her advanced knowledge of analyzing large datasets, building complex aggregates, creating data visualization, and conducting multivariate statistical analysis and predictive modeling. Prior, she worked for Amazon as a software engineer, architecting large-scale distributed services supporting Prime Membership, with particular emphasis on performance and scalability.
Formerly a Fulbright scholar from Pakistan, Dr. Anjum served in academia (both in Pakistan and the USA) for many years before joining the tech industry. She continues to volunteer at Cal State University campuses, and public schools, teaching CS-related content and serving as an industry mentor. A keen enthusiast of promoting diversity in the STEM fields, her other volunteer activities involve being a senior editor for ACM Ubiquity and the Standing Committee’s Chair for ACM-Women. Alongside, Dr. Anjum is the project lead and host of the Anitab.org special community project Technical Leaders Monthly Call, which provides free leadership coaching to its global community members. She has been recognized by Tribune as a Top 20 under 40 Professional for career excellence with a deep commitment to community service. She is also a recipient of the LUMS VC Alumni Achievement Award for sustained excellence in engineering, and leadership in the profession and public affairs. Lahore witnessed its first Google Cloud DevFest 2019 on December 28, 2019.
GDG Cloud Lahore organized its first Google DevFest 2019 with great success.
Manager GDG Cloud Lahore - Muhammad Hasan Samee started the event with opening note on cloud and community, followed by talks on GCP essentials, ML basics, Panel discussion Geek Girls; Co Manager GDG Cloud Lahore - Nauman Khokhar debriefed the activity on 'Missed Opportunity and building Network around you' to make the event best fit for learners and opportunists.
Awesome core team members who managed the event are Fatima Idrees, Muhammad Talha & Hina Tariq.
Numerous professional Speakers including Google Developer Expert (GDE), speakers from GBG Kolachi, President & Co Founder of International AI company, representative from Dell and no. of other speakers graced the event of around 300 attendees from different cities.
There were talks on Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, Panel discussions, fun and interactive sessions on how to be better at what we're doing using Google Cloud Technologies.
Free food, Google swags, T-shirts, Attendees certificates, networking activity+dinner, and whatnot; helped attendees to get the max out of Google Cloud DevFest Lahore 2019.
Female attendees ranged 25% of the gathering, retention was above and beyond, as there were back to back sessions for straight 5 hours and attendees showed full commitment to help them deliver maximum out of our efforts.
