✨Soliloquy - Monologue Writing & Performance Workshop ✨

We are organising a 3-month intensive ‘Monologue Writing & Performance Training’ Certified Course by Imran Mushter Nafees at the Center for Arts-Based Methodologies and Wellbeing.

Starting from September 02, 2021.

The performing arts are a dynamic vehicle for human expression; this workshop merges two strong and necessary creative expressions together: Writing and Performance.

Sign up to explore these elements, in order to evoke those expressions within you that have been hindered till now.

This short course will allow you to learn craft of acting and creative monologue writing which includes;

• Craft of Acting (Voice exercises, Body Movement, Stage movement, Facial Expression, emotions and expressions, etc)
• Understanding Theatre and brief history of Theatre in Pakistan
• Writing for theatre and introduction to drama
• Direction
• Theatre games for team building
• Theatre exercise for confidence building and self empowerment
• Understanding of characters psychology and character development with its relation to story and drama.
• In this applied learning course all participant will apply their learning and prepare a small production.

The 3-month course will culminate into a theatrical production as a soloist performance and present at the very first “Karachi Monologue Festival.”

Days: Tuesdays and Thursday
Timings: 6 PM to 7.30 PM

A new intimate space with a new experimental work, looking forward to see people there

A theatrical performance about a recurring act of reality where the question to find the story and character unreels. This contemporary act is a solo performance created by Imran Mushter Nafees.

Imran Mushter Nafees is an artist (performing & visual) and social activist who uses the power of art, be it theater, dance, film, visual art, performance or photography, for his expression. In 1991 the journey of theater began in Karachi and since then he is working as student, actor, director writer, trainer for theater across Pakistan. He is also the founder of Institute of the Performing Arts and Dugdugi.

Dugdugi is a group of artists, each with their own creative fields, who have joined hands to bring joy to those who need to express themselves, and bring forth their creativity, the less privileged and the survivors of life’s hardships. Dugdugi theater responds to the contemporary need of theater and creates work around it.
