If you are a customer, then I want you to understand these 5 points because of which it makes home bakers cakes not expensive but on the slightly higher range as compared to the bakery cakes
(1) So the first important point is quality ingredients. Every home baker, 99% of the home bakers, they end up using quality ingredients for making their cakes.
Now some of these ingredients are really premium quality and high quality ingredients. If you compare these ingredients with the ingredients that people use in the factories or in mass produced baked products, they are of really good quality, and these premium ingredients it results in higher cost of the cake
(2) The second most important point is time and labor each baked product each cake each sponge each cookie or each brownie is handmade it requires a lot of attention to details it requires a lot of care for that particular product and not just that it also requires a significant time and effort on the home baker's part which definitely contributes to the higher price
(3) The third and the most important point is customization lot of people ask for different types of customization in their cakes , cookies and brownies or any Other baked product that the home bakers are selling from their professional home bakeries. Now home bakers often offer lot of personalizations in terms of designs, in terms of flavors which are totally customized to individual preferences. This also requires lot of time and energy and expertise on the home baker side. This definitely adds to the cost of the cake.
(4) The fourth and the most important point is overhead expenses. Most of this customization it requires a home baker to use a specialized tool, a specialized kitchen tool or a specialized kitchen equipment as well which are actually very very expensive and that adds to the cost of the cake.
(5) The fifth and the last point is all about skill and expertise. Every professional homebaker or every skilled baker would have definitely invested a lot of money in bringing out that expertise, in getting the right knowledge, in getting the right expertise so that they can make those beautiful, tasty and flavorful cakes for your beautiful occasions, Why they have to invest in their own learning ? is only because if they learn, if they get the right knowledge, only after that, they are going to make that beautiful looking cake or beautiful, tasty cakes as well for your own beautiful occasions so that they can give amazing customer experience to lovely people like you,
So these are the five points quality ingredients time and labor customization overhead expenses and the skill and the expertise that the home bakers bring to the table makes their cakes at slightly higher
prices as compared to the bakery prices all these points are not taken care of when the people are making their cakes in the bakeries or in those mass-produced cakes or bakes that you generally eat or get in the market even their expiry dates are like even if you buy a packet of cookies it says that the expiry date is six months nine months down the line so you can understand the amount of preservatives and the chemicals that must have gone in that particular product but when it comes to home bakers they never use any kind of preservatives or chemicals for making their cakes or making their sponges as well so these are the reasons why home bakers are completely different from the bakeries or the mass-produced factories that are available in the market so in conclusion i would just like to tell you that do not name tag home bakers as expensive please try to understand from where they are coming from and that's how you will be able to do justice to their creativity and their expertise..
