The quest for freedom is inherently arduous, and numerous prominent leaders advocating for the rights of their people have confronted formidable challenges. Figures like Nelson Mandela persevered through lengthy imprisonments, their messages unwavering despite adversity. While it might be challenging for the people of Pakistan to acknowledge, only a few political leaders, including Barrister Z.A Bhutto and Imran Khan (IK), have displayed such unwavering commitment. Imran Khan, true to his pledges, resolutely maintains his position, ready to confront any challenges for Pakistan's improvement.

In our recent history, it becomes evident that top party leaders often choose self-imposed exile and luxury, potentially contributing to the current state of affairs in Pakistan. Reflecting on IK's assertion that "when it's time for an idea, you cannot stop it," there's insight to be gained from observing nations like Indonesia. Moreover, I share the belief that Chairman Imran Khan will follow in Nelson Mandela's footsteps by extending forgiveness to those who oppressed him, as he has expressed.

The judiciary appears to be expeditiously addressing past errors. The court overturned the 2018 ruling against the former three-time premier, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, after Sharif filed his appeal in October. The same court acquitted Sharif in another graft case on Nov. 29. The rapid dispensation of justice is setting records, yet questions arise about its impact on reducing case backlogs and ensuring fair proceedings. While the attempt to expedite justice is a commendable development, what remains perplexing is that, out of his 17-year sentence from two cases, Sharif served barely one year.

Upon his return to Pakistan in October after four years of self-exile, he seemingly leaped to the forefront for swift justice. This situation raises concerns as numerous individuals await court decisions, with some even languishing in incarceration without a chance to appear in court, forgotten by the system.

A poignant incident often cited by my late father during the Second World War underscores the significance of functioning courts. When faced with the relentless bombing attacks of the Luftwaffe over London, British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill inquired about the courts' operations. Upon learning that judges were dispensing justice as usual, Churchill remarked, "Thank God. If the courts are working, nothing can go wrong." Perhaps this highlights a critical aspect of the challenges facing Pakistan today.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, a day that forever changed our world. On this solemn occasion, we pause to remember the lives lost and the countless heroes who emerged amidst tragedy.

It's a day to honor the resilience of our nation, the strength of our communities, and the unity that emerged from the darkest of times. Let us never forget the importance of coming together in times of adversity, supporting one another, and cherishing the values that bind us as a nation.

As we remember the victims, the first responders, and all those affected by the events of 9/11, may their memory continue to inspire us to strive for peace, tolerance, and understanding in our world. 🕊️

It’s undoubted a sad but important day for Pakistan. Today the judicial process has failed one of its citizens but at large the nation.

In any common law country, the accused is given the right to defend if that right is not observed and a verdict is render how is that justifiable even when the same court recognizes that right in the same judgement.

The decision does raise some very valid concerns that cannot be overlooked. This decision points out how disjointed and dated our ECP process is.

The decision states that even when everything is completely and accurately reported to the nation’s tax authorities is not to consider a submission of an individual’s financial standing by ECP.

Furthermore, the decision also points out the lapse in the ECP declaration of wealth form where finical information provided does not even provide the provision to furnish those details.

I am drawing this assumption because the decision states that the former prime minister accurately declared those finical details to the tax authorities and even stated the correct amount on the ECP form, but details were not provided.

What’s additionally mind boggling is that the same ECP overlooked that Tosha Khana purchases of automobiles by the former premiers and their family members such as former prime ministers Mian Muhmmad Nawaz Sharif and Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, former President Asif Ali Zardari. The list also includes the name of Mariam Safdar, daughter of the former premier Nawaz Sharif. This given cover under the self-preservative Nab legislation and set aside. I think it is of the upmost importance that ECP & electoral reforms are carried out as the priority of whoever is elected to the treasury benches.

The arrest of the most popular political leader of Pakistan on frivolous charges, though sad but is an important point in Pakistan’s history. As this has not happened in many decades in the nation of Pakistan that a courageous leader emerged to challenge the powers at be whoever they might be.

The PDM government established apartheid, a corrupt and rotten system of segregation that privileged a few, which IK and PTI has committed themselves to its overthrow. The arrest of PTI Chairman, PTI leadership, party workers and even supporters who are repeatedly arrested for seditious activities and are unsuccessfully prosecuted.

Moreover, although initially committed to non-violent protest, what was the need now for conspiring to turn violent and vandalized state assets. The reason could not be Khan’s arrest because when a foiled assassination attempt was carried out it was in proximity to the military garrison and IK rhetoric was no different at that time either.

It was also surprising because I know for a fact the Pakistani people undoubtedly love and respect their brothers and sisters in Arms. The recent events may have tarnished that relationship which should be of the upmost importance for the military leadership to repair.

I for one still have full confidence in the disciplined Pakistan Army to play their part to mend the relationship between the people and armed forces, keeping with their role of protecting Pakistan from external and internal threats.

These are all complaining questions for which an independent judicial probe should be initiated by whoever is the newly elected government of Pakistan and should be demanded by the elite Pakistan Army.

The reason for its significance is that Khan has joined the list of great leaders like Quid-e-Azam and Dr Allamah Muhmmad Iqbal. Following in the footsteps of leaders like Nelson Mandela. The people who were driven by ideology and remained steadfast to their beliefs even in the toughest of times.

This is particularly more important as previously the Pakistani political party chairpersons always brokered a deal and ran away in self-imposed exiles. Which paved the way for constitutional forces, leaving behind their party leadership and workers. This could be in fear of persecution or fear of life.

These same complexities are faced by Chairman Imran Khan’s his true show of leadership and self-belief in these hard times is exemplary. In my opinion he and his party workers and supporters are restating the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam M.A Jinnah RA and Dr Allamah Muhmmad Iqbal R.A.

Having said that his ideology might be drawn by the principles set forth by Quaid and Iqbal. He and his party are fighting with the same spirit and zeal of Bhagat Singh and his companions Bismil, Azad and others. Just like Bhagat Singh, this son of soil Khan, is willing to fight the forces of injustice along with his fellow patriots. We salute you and all those nameless heroes who we might not know by name but recognize for their selfless act of patriotism.

The nation should be amid to growing domestic and international pressure in the attempts to negotiate an end to this apartheid, which will result in Hakeeqi Azadi for the nation of Pakistan.

The selection of poem above call out and talk back to the inhumane forces that threaten our innocent people. This time has exposed the grim truths, and has raised consciousness, to build united fronts.
