Two brothers from a Swedish-Pàles-tìnìàn family based in Malmö, Sweden released a new brand of carbonated beverages named 'Pàle_stínè Cola'- aiming to provide an alternative to other drinks in addition to planning sending a portion of their income to support the Gà-zà.
The company is completely independant, with no links to other soft drink manufacturers, and it has stated that any “surplus” in income once their sales generate a profit will go to carefully curated aid organizations that help Pàles-tìnìàns in need - according to their website.
It added that the tree on logo of the can represents an olive tree, as Pàles-tìne has been known for its olive groves since ancient times and now represents a symbol of value for Pàles-tìne.
Ammonia can also be used as a fuel for fuel cells or combustion engines, producing only nitrogen and water as emissions.

Chinese scientists have introduced what they claim to be the world's first AI child. This AI, known as Tong Tong, was developed by the Beijing Institute for General Artificial Intelligence (BIGAI) and showcased to the public in Beijing.
BIGAI views Tong Tong as a significant milestone in creating a general artificial intelligence (AGI) agent, a machine capable of thinking and reasoning like a human being. Led by Zhu Songchun, a renowned expert in AI, BIGAI aims to develop AGI agents capable of performing a wide range of tasks, unlike traditional AI systems limited to specific functions.
Tong demonstrated abilities similar to those of a three- or four-year-old child, such as cleaning up, fixing things, and responding to human commands like fetching a towel to wipe up spills. What sets Tong apart is her ability to initiate tasks independently, a level of autonomy previously unseen in virtual entities. Additionally, she is designed to exhibit emotions and intellect, according to her creators.
In addition to Tong Tong's development, researchers at BIGAI have devised a new assessment method for AGI called the Tong test. This test evaluates an AI's intelligence across various domains, including vision, language, reasoning, movement, and learning, while considering factors like survival and emotions. The Tong test ensures that AGI can effectively function in human environments, possess practical skills, and adhere to human values.
CERN, which is all about European nuclear research, has unveiled something super cool: the CERNquadbot! It's a robot that handles dangerous places, like areas with lots of nuclear radiation.
This awesome robot just finished its first test in a radiation zone, showing off how good it is at exploring tricky places.
What makes this robot special is that it's got four legs, which helps it stay steady and move around easily. It can even deal with things like tangled wires and pipes without trouble.
Plus, it's super smart! With fancy computer programs, it can keep an eye on the environment and spot any weird stuff going on. This means it can work with other CERN robots to ensure everything's safe and sound.
This new invention opens up a whole new world of exploring for CERN, which could lead to exciting particle physics discoveries!
An image of a young polar bear drifting off to sleep on an iceberg has won the UK's annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year People’s Choice Award.
The shot was captured by British amateur photographer Nima Sarikhani in Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, a region particularly affected by global warming.
Mr Sarikhani said he wanted the photograph to inspire hope and that there is still time to “fix the mess we have caused” by the human-made climate crisis.
There is one photographer who seems to have hit upon a unique approach to landscape and drone photography. Aydın Büyüktaş, a photographer from Turkey, has found himself quite the center of attention on social media with his mind-bending depictions of the American landscape that he calls Flatlands.

Meta, headed by Mark Zuckerberg, recently announced a new initiative to label images created by artificial intelligence (AI) across social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Threads. While Meta already tags images generated by its AI tool as "Imagined with AI," it now aims to extend this labelling to include images produced by other major AI tools like those from Google and OpenAI.
According to Nick Clegg, the president of Meta, as AI-generated content becomes increasingly prevalent, users desire transparency regarding whether what they're viewing was created by humans or AI. To address this, Meta plans to assist by clearly labelling AI-generated images. They're collaborating with other companies to establish standardized guidelines for labelling AI content and are developing tools to identify markers in AI-generated images from various sources.
However, Meta can only apply the "AI-generated" label when other companies provide information indicating that their images were created using AI. Currently, Meta cannot detect AI-generated audio and videos from other companies. Therefore, they are introducing a feature enabling users to indicate whether they share AI-generated videos or audio on Instagram, Threads, or Facebook.
In cases where Meta identifies AI-generated content that could potentially deceive users on important matters, they may introduce more prominent labels to provide additional information and prevent misinformation.
The study conducted at the Georgia Institute of Technology suggests a correlation between pupil size and differences in intelligence among individuals. Researchers found that larger pupils may be associated with higher intelligence, as demonstrated by tests measuring reasoning skills, memory, and attention. This relationship was observed across memory tasks and cognitive tests evaluating fluid intelligence, working memory capacity, and attention control.
The study involved over 500 participants aged 18 to 35, and pupil sizes were measured using eye trackers. Results indicated that individuals with larger baseline pupil sizes tended to have greater fluid intelligence, attention control, and working memory capacity. However, the researchers emphasize that correlation does not imply causation.
The connection between pupil size and intelligence is hypothesized to be linked to the locus coeruleus, a brain region responsible for synthesizing norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter involved in various cognitive functions. The locus coeruleus plays a crucial role in perception, attention, memory, and learning processes.
While the findings are intriguing, the research is still in its early stages, and more studies are needed to understand the underlying mechanisms behind the observed correlation. Additionally, the study's conclusions remain controversial, and replication by other researchers is necessary to validate the results.
The experienced team behind the autonomous delivery robots at Starship Technologies got a big boost.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the 20-year journey of Facebook, the social network he co-founded in 2004. In a short video and message shared on Instagram, Zuckerberg reminisced about creating Facebook at Harvard University when he was 19.
The 39-year-old tech mogul shared glimpses of Facebook's early days through a reel featuring pictures and videos. The content included his initial profile picture, images of him working on a desktop, and photos of his wife, Priscilla Chan, and Shan Sandberg, a former member of Meta's board.
Facebook expressed affection with a comment saying, "Love you, Dad." The platform, now used by over three billion monthly active users globally, started with one million users in its first year and reached one billion in 2012.
In 2021, Facebook was rebranded as Meta Platforms, Inc., encompassing products like Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp. Zuckerberg recently testified before the US Senate Judiciary Committee about the impact of social media on children's well-being.
QuEra, a startup, is set to launch the world's first commercial fault-tolerant quantum computer with logical qubits, which may be operational by the end of 2024. Logical qubits, created by connecting physical qubits through quantum entanglement, help reduce errors in quantum computers by storing the same data in different locations.
The upcoming machine, featuring 256 physical and 10 logical qubits, is expected to launch in late 2024. This follows a recent study demonstrating a quantum computer with 48 logical qubits, showcasing advancements in error correction for quantum computing. QuEra plans to launch multiple quantum computers in the coming years.

Pakistan is set to launch 5G services by July-August 2024, according to Dr Umar Saif, the Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication. The government plans to auction 300MHz of spectrum before the 5G launch.
However, Pakistan's network of optical fibers needs to be expanded before the launch. Out of the roughly 56,000 towers in the nation, only 6,000 mobile towers have optic fiber connections attached to them at the moment. The minister outlined the government's initiatives to support the IT sector, such as the creation of a telecom tribunal. Initiatives are also in place to support local manufacture and increase smartphone exports.
