1) Prime Minister Laptops: Distribution for KIMS AND KIDS begins this Thursday or Friday, with the procedure details to be announced soon. This is because these colleges are KMU's own campuses while all other medical and dental colleges are just affiliated with KMU, so our next plan is get this laptop scheme approved for all the affiliated Public Sector Medical and Dental Colleges throughout KPK inshaallah with the coordination of KMU & HEC.

2) Exam Fee Refund: It's upto the colleges to decide whether to refund or adjust exam fees for students, possibly in the next academic year.

If there exists any inconveniences, please let us know.

3) Students and Society Budget 2024 for KIMS/KIDS:
A request has been approved to release budget before the upcoming Academic session 2024 so that events and activities run smoothly without any disturbance.

This was the meeting agenda of YDA student wing with KMU officials today to address key issues throughout KPK Medical Colleges.

KMU has officially announced to Reconduct MDCAT on 26th Nov 2023.

More power to the Honorable Vice Chancellor for taking all the necessary steps in a very short time.

Today YDA KMC & PIMC hosted a dinner for our Cabinet of YDA Students Wing Kims,Kids,IHS , after their successful meeting with Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the leadership of GS YDA KPK Dr Faheem.

All the demands were highly appreciated by the KMU and has approved many important decisions in the large interest of students.

💥 Official Notification of the KMU Exam Fee.

The Khyber Medical College Peshawar's administration's recent approach towards the literary society is deeply concerning and warrants immediate redressal.

From the outset, the society was denied essential funds, resulting in the unfortunate necessity of charging our own students for ticketed events. This is not only unprecedented but also deeply unfair.

Furthermore, after initially granting approvals for specific event segments, the administration made last-minute alterations, disrupting well-laid plans. Such eleventh-hour changes not only defy established protocols but also undermine the hard work and dedication of the students involved.

It is imperative for the administration to consider the ramifications of their decisions prior to an event. Once approvals are granted, it is their responsibility to ensure the event's smooth operation and to stand by their commitments without introducing disruptions.

YDA demands:
1. Reconduction ✅
2. Full Investigation ✅
3. Not through ETEA - it will be conducted under KMU ✅

💥IMPORTANT UPDATE ON KMU EXAM FEE!

KMU has moved to an online system, so things might be a bit slower than usual. We were expecting a notification yesterday, but because of the new system, it's delayed.

We've spoken to KMU. Don't worry! They've given us until the 23RD of OCTOBER 2023 to pay the FIRST YEAR exam fee. If your college has given a deadline earlier than this, don't submit.

Please wait for the official notice before paying. If you've already paid, you'll get your money back.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Today a successful meeting between General Secretary YDA KPK Dr Faheem & Controller examination KMU was held. In this regard KMU will issue the notification to all KPK medical colleges regrading the EXAM FEE hike shortly.

We are highly grateful to the controller examination for this wonderful cooperation and the approval of our application.

Moreover those who have submitted the fee, it will be refunded.

Today a grand gathering of YDA KPK Medical Colleges having all chapters on board was held at Hayatabad Medical Complex.

The meeting was presided by the President YDA KPK Dr Asfandyar Khan and Dr Hafeez Orakzai.

The agenda of the meeting was:

1. ETEA MDCAT:

The whole meeting agreed to stand with our upcoming batches into our community. We'll always stand with our Premedical Students.

Reconduction not through ETEA, a full investigation and making the whole case public as well as termination of the Director of ETEA.

We'll be starting our Twitter trend with hashtag from tomorrow 07:00 PM. In the same way we'll be having a press conference.

2. KMU Exam Fee:

A proper application has been submitted to the KMU for the implementation of their decision in all colleges.

3. Overall Fee Hike:

A full strategy has been designed to start work over this burning issue and ensure its solution once for all.

4. YDA Grand Convention:

A complete plan has been drafted regarding this wonderful event most probably in the 2nd Week of October.

At the end a dinner was served as a token of appreciation from the President YDA KPK Dr. Asfandyar Khan.

آج وائی ڈے اے وفد (میڈیکل کالجز) نے وزیر صحت ریاض انور صاحب سے ملاقات کی کہ جس میں مندرجہ ذیل مسلوں پر تفصیلی بات ہوئی۔

ایم ڈی کیٹ کے حوالے سے ہم نے انہیں غیر قانونی وسائل کے استعمال سے آگاہ کیا اور کہا کہ ری کنڈکٹ کے علاوہ کوئی اور فیصلہ کسی صورت بھی تسلیم نہیں کیا جائیگا کہ جس پر اس نے یقین دہانی کرائی کہ جے آئی ٹی کا فیصلہ انصاف پر مشتمل ہوگا اور طلباء کے حق میں ہوگا۔ اس کے بعد لائحہ عمل طے کریں گے۔

کے ایم یو نے امتحانی فیس کو زیادہ نہ کرنے کی خبر نشر کی تھی لیکن اس کے باوجود ابھی تک مختلف کالجز طلباء سے زیادہ فیس لے رہے ہیں کہ جس پر ریاض انور صاحب نے کہا کہ جلد از جلد اس کا نوٹس لے لیا جائیگا۔

ہیلتھ ڈیپارٹمنٹ کی طرف ایڈمیشن فیس میں تین سو فیصد کے اضافے پر بھی بات ہوئی اور انہوں یقین دہانی کرائی کہ اس پر اگلے ہفتے سے کام شروع کر دیا جائیگا۔ اسی سلسلے میں ینگ ڈاکٹر ایسوسیشن نے تمام کے پی کے میڈیکل کالجز کے نمائندگان کی میٹنگ 21 ستمبر کو بلا لی ہے۔

In light of the 2nd meeting convened at Bab E Peshawar, comprising parents, teachers, and students, the Young Doctors Association of all KPK Medical Colleges wishes to express the following demands for the betterment of our education system and the credibility of our medical entrance examination process:

1. Reconduct of MDCAT Examination only in KPK: We insist on a reconduction of the MDCAT examination, given the alarming revelations that the number of suspected Bluetooth users during the exam approximates the total number of open merit seats available in KPK.

2. Selection of a Different Conducting Body: The reconduction should not be executed under the aegis of ETEA, due to the substantial loss of trust in its credibility.

3. Comprehensive Investigation into Examination Malpractices: There should be an exhaustive investigation into the aforementioned Bluetooth issue. For this, it is imperative to involve all pertinent agencies and departments, including the FIA, forensic experts, and customs, to ensure transparency and restore faith in the system.

4. Province-Specific Examination: We firmly believe that students from one province should not be permitted to partake in the entrance examinations of another province. This step would ensure fairness, regional representation, and equitable access to medical education within each province.

We expect these demands to be addressed earnestly and promptly to uphold the sanctity and integrity of our educational system.

YDA held a significant meeting today with concerned parents and students of MDCAT regarding their grievances pertaining to the MDCAT ETEA 2023.

The meeting commenced with an open and earnest discussion on the alleged mismanagement during the MDCAT ETEA 2023 examination. The grievances voiced by the attendees were of a serious nature, and their unwavering enthusiasm in seeking resolution was truly inspiring.

More over, the participation of Professors and Teachers made the discussion even more productive.

Representatives from the Young Doctors Association (YDA) chapters of KMC and PIMC collaborated to meet with the central cabinet of YDA KPK. During this meeting, the concerns raised by the aggrieved students and parents were effectively communicated to the senior leadership of YDA KPK.

The leadership of YDA KPK has expressed deep concern regarding the situation and has committed to supporting and defending the rights of our future doctors in every possible manner. The commitment to upholding merit within our community is unwavering, and we pledge to stand by the students until justice is served.

YDA, in solidarity with the affected students, will tirelessly advocate for justice across all available platforms and will convey their reservations with utmost sincerity to the relevant authorities as well will continue to work with them shoulder to shoulder.

In light of these developments, a meeting of all chapters representing various KPK Medical Colleges has been scheduled for September 21, 2023, in Peshawar.

We will stand with our upcoming doctors and their parents till justice is served. We won't compromise over the dignity of our white coat community. These wonderful souls are going to be a part of our community now, we own them. 🚩

Unfortunately, once again, the young doctors of KPK are being compelled by the government to protest for their rights. In recent days, has been striving to persuade the current government to increase their salaries, just as every other government sector is granted a raise in salaries in every budget.

They are faced with two choices:

1. To condone the government's injustice by not highlighting their issues, and succumb to the corrupt and dysfunctional system.
2. To stand up for their rights, opposing the injustice and the corrupt individuals in power who consistently make efforts to deprive the young doctors of the privileges they deserve.

While employees in various government sectors enjoy salary increases in nearly every budget, young doctors, whose sole income is their monthly pay, are constantly taken for granted. Despite working tirelessly for the well-being of our fellow human beings, their efforts go unappreciated, and they are still required to navigate cumbersome and exhausting channels to make their voices heard by the authorities. It is no wonder that many young doctors are opting to leave their own country in search of a better future.

It is imperative that the government pays heed to their legitimate demands and seeks a lasting solution to these recurring loopholes in the health sector, which not only affect the doctors themselves but also the patients they serve.

They will not relent, and neither will we. We stand with them until justice is achieved!

Peshawar, 13 June 2023 - In a press conference held today at the Peshawar Press Club, YDA KMC/KCD acting as the representative for KPK Medical Colleges students, included the agenda point #7 to address the long-standing issue of a 300% fee increase for medical students in KPK.

The soaring fees have burdened the medical students of KPK, posing significant challenges to their education and future prospects. Despite numerous appeals and previous requests, no concrete action has been taken by the authorities to alleviate the financial strain on these students.

Access to quality education is a fundamental right of every student, regardless of their socio-economic background. By neglecting the plea for a reasonable fee structure, we are jeopardizing the future of healthcare in KPK and denying countless deserving individuals the opportunity to pursue their dreams.

We demand that the 300% fee increase for medical students in KPK be thoroughly reevaluated and rectified without further delay. We urge the government and relevant stakeholders to engage in productive dialogue to find a viable solution that ensures equal educational opportunities for all.

We sincerely hope that the authorities will give due consideration to our plea and take swift measures to resolve this critical matter.
