وہ بھی کیا دن تھے جب میرا گھر ہنسی مذاق اور لڑائی جھگڑے کی آوازوں سے گونجتا تھا۔ہر طرف بکھری ہوئی چیزیں ۔ ۔ ۔ بستر پر پینسلوں اور کتابوں کا ڈھیر ۔ ۔ ۔ پورے کمرے میں پھیلے ہوئے کپڑے۔ میرا پورا دن ان کو کمرہ صاف کرنے اور چیزیں سلیقے سے رکھنے کے لیے ڈانٹنے میں گزرتا۔
صبح کے وقت ایک جاگتے ہی کہتا:

ماما مجھے ایک کتاب نہیں مل رہی

دوسرا چیختا:

میرے جوتے کہاں ہیں؟

ایک منمناتا:

ماما میری ہوم ورک والی ڈائری!

اور دوسرا رندھی آواز میں کہتا:

ماما میں اپنا ہوم ورک کرنا بھول گیا ۔ ۔ ۔

ہر کوئی اپنا اپنا رونا رو رہا ہوتا۔ اور میں چیختی کہ آپ کی چیزوں کا خیال رکھنا میری ذمہ داری نہیں ۔ ۔ ۔ اب آپ بڑے ہو گئے ہو، خود سنبھالو!

آج میں ان کے کمرے کے دروازے پر کھڑی ہوں. بستر خالی ہیں. الماریوں میں صرف چند کپڑے ہیں. جو چیز باقی ہے، وہ ہے ان کی خوشبو.

اور میں ان کی خوشبو محسوس کر کے اپنے خالی دل کو بھرنے کی کوشش کرتی ہوں۔

اب صرف ان کے قہقوں، جھگڑوں اور میرے گلے لگنے کی یاد ہے.

آج میرا گھر صاف ہے۔ سب کچھ اپنی جگہ پر ہے۔ یہ پرسکون، پرامن اور خاموش ہے ۔ ۔ ۔ زندگی سے خالی ایک صحرا کی طرح۔

وہ ان کا دروازے کھلے چھوڑ کر بھاگ جانا اور میرا چیختے رہنا کہ دروازے بند کرو۔ آج سب دروازے بند ہیں اور انہیں کھلا چھوڑ جانے والا کوئی نہیں۔

ایک کسی دوسرے شہر چلا گیا ہے اور دوسرا کسی دوسرے ملک۔ دونوں زندگی میں اپنا راستہ ڈھونڈ رہے ہیں۔

ہر بار وہ آتے ہیں اور ہمارے ساتھ کچھ دن گزارتے ہیں۔ جاتے ہوئے جب وہ اپنے بیگ کھینچتے ہیں تو یوں لگتا ہے جیسے میرا دل بھی ساتھ کھنچ رہا ہے۔

میں سوچتی ہوں کہ کاش میں ان کا یہ بیگ ہوتی تو ان کے ساتھ رہتی۔

لیکن پھر میں دعا کرتی ہوں کہ وہ جہاں رہیں آباد رہیں۔

اگر آپ کے بچے ابھی چھوٹے ہیں تو انہیں انجوائے کریں۔ ان کو گدگدائیں، ان کی معصوم حیرت کو شیئر کریں اور ان کی چھوٹی چھوٹی پریشانیوں کا مداوا کریں۔

گھر گندا ہے، کمرے بکھرے ہیں اور دروازے کھلے ہیں تو رہنے دیں۔ یہ سب بعد میں بھی ٹھیک ہو سکتا ہے۔ لیکن بچوں کے ساتھ یہ وقت آپ کو دوبارہ نہیں ملے گا.
