Federal Minister for Education, Shafqat Mahmood has said that there will be no board exams for class 9 and class 11 / 1st year from next year. Class 5 board exams has already been abolished. So from next year only Class 8, 10 and 2nd year exams shall be conducted.

Federal Minster announced this decision after Inter Provincial Education Ministers conference. The 14th meeting Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (PEMC) was chaired by the Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood. All four provinces including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir participated in the meeting.The decision was made unanimously that only three board exams will be conducted all over the country including class 8, 10th and 2nd year. It was also decided that all Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education BISEs will announce the results of Intermediate before August 15, every year. This decision was taken to implement the same education calendar throughout the country.

Most of the boards in the country announce Intermediate results in September. This year, only KP Boards and Federal Board announced Intermediate results before August. But All boards of Punjab and Karachi board announced the Intermediate results in September. This leads to a major problem for the students getting admission into universities.

It is pertinent to mention here that some 15-20 years back, Class 9th and class 11th board exams were not conducted separately, but were conducted with class 10 and 12th that had led to extra burden on the students during exams days for preparing two years syllabus. Are we once again going back again in time. Nations learn from their past experience and make decisions that serve the country better, but it seems like we are moving in a circle, rather than moving ahead.

مرجنگ ڈگریز کی طرف نہ جائیں۔یورپ کو دیکھ کر ہمارے ہاں ایسی ڈگریاں متعارف کروائی گئی ہیں جن میں ایک سے زیادہ شعبوں اور کورسسز کو مرج کر دیا گیا ہے۔فی الحال پاکستان میں ان کا سکوپ نہیں۔

آپ دل پر ہاتھ رکھ کر بتائیں بی ای، بی کام ، ایم کام، بی بی اے، ایم بی اے، انجینئرنگ کے سیکڑوں شعبہ جات میں بے تحاشہ ڈگریاں اور اس کے علاوہ چار چار سال تک کلاس رومز میں GP کے لیےخوار ہوتے لڑکے لڑکیاں کونسا تیر مار رہے ہیں؟
آپ یقین کریں ہم صرف دھرتی پر " ڈگری شدہ " انسانوں کے بوجھ میں اضافہ کر رہے ہیں ۔ یہ تمام ڈگری شدہ نوجوان ملک کو ایک روپے تک کی پروڈکٹ دینے کے قابل نہیں ہیں۔ ان کی ساری تگ و دو اور ڈگری کا حاصل محض ایک معصوم سی نوکری ہے اور بس۔

ٹیوٹا ، ڈاہٹسو ، ڈاٹسن ، ہینو ، ہونڈا ،سوزوکی ، کاواساکی ، لیکسس ، مزدا ، مٹسوبشی ، نسان ، اسوزو اور یاماہا یہ تمام برانڈز جاپان کی ہیں جبکہ شیورلیٹ ، ہونڈائی اور ڈائیوو جنوبی کوریا بناتا ہے ۔ آپ اندازہ کریں اس کے بعد دنیا میں آٹو موبائلز رہ کیا جاتی ہیں ؟ آئی – ٹی اور الیکٹرونکس مارکیٹ کا حال یہ ہے کہ سونی سے لے کر کینن کیمرے تک سب کچھ جاپان کے پاس سے آتا ہے ۔

دنیا کے تعلیمی نظاموں میں پہلے نمبر پر فن لینڈ، دوسرے نمبر پر جاپان اور تیسرے نمبر پر جنوبی کوریا ہے ۔ انھوں نے اپنی نئی نسل کو "ڈگریوں " کے پیچھے بھگانے کے بجائے انھیں " ٹیکنیکل " کرنا شروع کردیا ہے۔ آپ کو سب سے زیادہ ایلیمنٹری اسکولز ان ہی ممالک میں نظر آئیں گے۔

وہ اپنے بچوں کا وقت کلاس رومز میں بورڈز کے سامنے ضائع کرنے کے بجائے حقائق کی دنیا میں لے جاتے ہیں ۔ ایک بہت بڑا ووکیشنل انسٹیٹیوٹ اس وقت سنگاپور میں ہے اور وہاں بچوں کا صرف بیس فیصد وقت کلاس میں گزارتا ہے باقی اسی فیصد وقت بچے اپنے اپنے شعبوں میں آٹو موبائلز اور آئی – ٹی کی چیزوں سے کھیلتے گزارتے ہیں۔

دوسری طرف آپ ہمارے تعلیمی نظام اور ہمارے بچوں کا حال ملاحظہ کریں۔ آپ دل پر ہاتھ رکھ کر بتائیں۔

آئی – ٹی انڈسٹری میں سب سے زیادہ نوجوان ساری دنیا میں بھارت سے جاتے ہیں جب کہ آپ کو دنیا کے تقریبا ہر ملک میں بڑی تعداد میں بھارتی لڑکے لڑکیاں سیلز مینز ، گرلز ، ویٹرز اور ویٹریسسز نظر آتے ہیں ۔ پروفیشنل ہونے کی وجہ سے ان کی تنخواہیں بھی پاکستانیوں کے مقابلے میں دس دس گنا زیادہ ہوتی ہیں اور دوسری طرف لے دے کر ایک " مری " ہی ہمارے لیے ناسور بن چکا ہے ۔جہاں کے لوگوں کو سیاحوں کی عزت تک کرنا نہیں آتی ہے۔

چینی کہاوت ہے کہ " اگر تم کسی کی مدد کرنا چاہتے ہو تو اس کو مچھلی دینے کے بجائے مچھلی پکڑنا سکھا دو "۔ چینیوں کو یہ بات سمجھ آگئی۔ کاش ہمیں بھی آجائے۔ حضرت علیؓ نے فرمایا تھا کہ " ہنر مند آدمی کبھی بھوکا نہیں رہتا۔ "۔ خدارا ! ملک میں " ڈگری زدہ " لوگوں کی تعداد بڑھانے کے بجائے ہنر مند پیدا کیجیے ۔ دنیا کے اتنے بڑے " ہیومن ریسورس " کی اس طرح بے قدری کا جو انجام ہونا تھا وہ ہمارے سامنے ہے۔
