حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَائٍ قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مَالِکِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلی الله عليه وسلم لَيْسَ بِالطَّوِيلِ الْبَائِنِ وَلاَ بِالْقَصِيرِ وَلاَ بِالأَبْيَضِ الأَمْهَقِ وَلاَ بِالآدَمِ وَلاَ بِالْجَعْدِ الْقَطَطِ وَلاَ بِالسَّبْطِ بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَی عَلَی رَأْسِ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً فَأَقَامَ بِمَکَّةَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ وَتَوَفَّاهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَی عَلَی رَأْسِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً وَلَيْسَ فِي رَأْسِهِ وَلِحْيَتِهِ عِشْرُونَ شَعَرَةً بَيْضَائَ

حضرت انس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ حضور اقدس ﷺ نہ بہت لمبے قد کے تھے نہ پستہ قد (جس کو ٹھگنا کہتے ہیں) بلکہ آپ کا قد مبارک درمیانہ تھا اور نیز رنگ کے اعتبار سے نہ بالکل سفید تھے چونہ کی طرح، نہ بالکل گندم گوں کہ سانولا بن جائے (بلکہ چودھویں رات کے چاند سے زیادہ روشن پرنور اور کچھ ملاحت لئے ہوئے تھے) حضور اقدس ﷺ کے بال نہ بالکل سیدھے تھے نہ بالکل پیچدار (بلکہ ہلکی سی پیچیدگی اور گھونگریالہ پن تھا) چالیس برس کی عمر ہوجانے پر حق تعالیٰ جل شانہ نے آپ ﷺ کو نبی بنایا پھر آپ ﷺ نے مکہ مکرمہ میں دس سال قیام فرمایا اور دس سال مدینہ منورہ میں رہے اور ساٹھ سے کچھ اوپر تھے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ ﷺ کو وفات دے دی اور آپ ﷺ کے سر مبارک اور داڑھی مبارک میں بیس بال بھی سفید نہیں تھے۔

Anas (Radiallahu Anhu) reports: "Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) was neither tall nor was he short (like a dwarfHe was of medium stature). In complexion, he was he was neither very white like lime, nor very dark, nor brown which results in darkness (he was illuminant, more luminous than even the fullmoon on the 14th night).
The hair of Rasullullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) was neither very straight nor very curly (but slightly wavy). When he attained the age of forty, Allah the Almighty granted him nubuwwah (prophethood).He lived for ten years in Makkah (commentary) and in Madina for ten years. At that time there were not more than twenty white hair on his mubarak (blessed) head and beard." (This will be described in detail in the chapter on white hair of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam).
