Thrilled to see our article "Excellent antimicrobial and photocatalytic performance of C/GO/TiO2/Ag and C/TiO2/Ag hybrid nanocomposite beds against waterborne microorganisms" published in Materials Chemistry and Physics, Elsevier.

Herein, we designed multifunctional water filtration beds, based on porous carbon, enriched with graphene oxide (GO), nano-TiO2 and nano-Ag. The hybrids were synthesized via facile, zero-waste, one-pot sol-gel approach. They showed superior biocidal properties against model bacteria and waterborne strains as well as photocatalytic action toward organic pollutants (dyes). Obtained nanocomposites were successfully utilized in real filtration system. Finally, they were able to self-clean within 72 hours and were thermally recovered to satisfy the sustainability provisions!

Congratulations to Michał Jakubczak, the first author and my PhD student and the whole team including Dominika Bury and Anita Wojciechowska 👏 Politechnika Warszawska

2D MBenes, early transition metal borides, are a very recent derivative of ternary or quaternary transition metal boride (MAB) phases and represent a new member in the flatland. Although holding great potential toward various applications, mainly theoretical knowledge about their potential properties is available. Theoretical calculations and preliminary experimental attempts demonstrate their rich chemistry, excellent reactivity, mechanical strength/stability, electrical conductivity, transition properties, and energy harvesting possibility. Compared to MXenes, MBenes’ structure appears to be more complex due to multiple crystallographic arrangements, polymorphism, and structural transformations. This makes their synthesis and subsequent delamination into single flakes challenging. Overcoming this bottleneck will enable a rational control over MBenes’ material–structure–property relationship. Innovations in MBenes’ postprocessing approaches will allow for the design of new functional systems and devices with multipurpose functionalities thus opening a promising paradigm for the conscious design of high-performance 2D materials.

So proud CEO to announce that our company ADJ Nanotechnology is favorably placed in the group of Radar4.0 companies - the most promising Polish start-ups that have completed the KPT ScaleUp acceleration program with an innovative offer for the industry.

The Radar 4.0 catalog was developed by hub4industry - DIH Krakow Technology Park and Business Finland and includes approx. 90 young companies from Poland and Finland, which received recommendations from over 20 representatives of the innovation ecosystem of the industrial sector. These are battle-tested companies that have carried out demanding pilot implementations, tests, or commercial implementations. Radar 4.0 directs the spotlight on local talent and know-how and companies still at the beginning of the road but already experienced. Radar 4.0 was implemented as part of the National program ‘Industry 4.0’.
