Stone Medicine is a traditional healing method that blends together ancient ceremonies and stones, therapist and client into a session that flows like a graceful dance. I offer deeper levels of physical and emotional healing to my clients. I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist graduated from the Virginia School of Massage, as well as a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). I specialize in Stone Medicine and medical massage; focused in neck and back pain management, including other modalities and techniques such as Swedish, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Stone Massage, Fire Cupping Massage, Pregnancy Massage, CranialSacral Therapy, Vibrational Therapy and Chair/Seated Massage. After 20 years in the medical and customer service field, I longed for a career in Massage Therapy to help my husband with his Chiropractic practice, just to soon realize massage therapy and helping people is my passion! I was already familiar with the benefits of massage, for as a teenager my mother was first introduced to chiropractic/massage care as a way to help relieve tension and pain after a very bad fall and that ended in a low back surgery. This career has given me the opportunity to start my own business and help others find a path towards wellness. Having worked alongside chiropractors, physicians, athletes, accident victims, expectant mothers, children as well as elderly. I have focused heavily on therapeutic massage because so many people experience chronic pain that often do not respond to traditional medical treatments, and who are, therefore, searching for an alternative solution. I specialize in alleviating long-term pain, and discomfort. I founded SacredStone Massage and Healing Arts to address these types of issues. I consider my self an "Intuitive Therapist". This means I let your body do the talking. I do not pressure or force the body to achieve wellness goals. My technique utilizes hands on therapeutic massage techniques to facilitate the release of energy blockages and restore or balance the flow of energy within the body. My bodywork is a bit unique with a blend of techniques and various modalities customized to benefit my clients needs. For example, some people think that Deep Tissue is all about the pain. If you are looking for someone to hurt you, I am not the therapist for you. I believe more in warming up the tissues and slowly work the muscle. Knots and tension will disappear without the "No Pain, No Gain" approach. From adjusting the temperature of the table, placing pillows for comfort, picking the perfect essential oils for your mood that day, I will continually strive to bring my clients the best in alternative medicine and customer service with a caring and compassionate touch!

What a wonderful night with these beautiful souls!

Thank you to everyone who showed up and for those who where there in heart and spirit.

This was a night to remember! And thanks to Lauryn Handley, Massage Therapist for putting great memories of our practice and beloved clients into a book that can cherish for a lifetime.

ABOUT OUR THERAPIST

Hi! My name is Dennise Thomas! I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist graduated from the Virginia School of Massage, as well as a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).

I have over 750 hrs from the Virginia School of Massage were I learned over 10 different modalities and techniques such as Swedish, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Shiatsu, Acupressure, Sports Massage, Russian Massage, Myofascial Release, Hot Stone Massage, Cupping Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Cranial Sacral Therapy and Chair/Seated Corporate Massage.

After many years in the medical field as a Medical Office Coordinator, I longed for a career in Massage Therapy to help my husband with his Chiropractic practice, just to soon realize massage therapy is my passion in life! I was already familiar with the benefits of massage, for as a teenager my mother was first introduced to chiropractic and massage care as a way to help relieve tension and pain after a very bad fall that ended in a low back surgery.

I facilitate the release of tension or energy blockages you didn't even know you had. Unfortunately some people have a misconception that "Deep Tissue" is all about the pain. If you are looking for someone to hurt you, I am not the therapist for you. I believe more in warming up the tissue and slowly working deep into the muscle.
