Today I met a new baker friend while traveling Scotland!

It's amazing how something as simple as baking can connect people!

He is such a kind soul and his sweets are amazingly delicious!

He even had the kindness of gifting me a few extra baked goods for the road and sharing with me his vast knowledge and some baking recipes.

This was such an amazing experience that I wouldn't have had if it were not for baking.

If you are ever traveling and end up in Ayr, Scotland, his dessert shop is a mandatory stop! He's amazing!

Although I appreciate your support and I have to say, most of my clients are pretty good, I've also have the need to create these policies so we can both benefit from the baking goods I create.

Remember, at the end of the day, you are the customer who needs the cake. I am the baker who bakes it for you. And as much as I love to bake for you guys, it has to work out for both parties.

I am done with customers who do not respect my time or my pricing. I am not a novice baker, I've baked for 4 years now, and I have worked hard on improving not just my decorating skills but my recipes as well.

At the end of the day, having a fancy cake is not a need but a luxury. I remember many birthdays as a kid when we didn't have the money to do a big party and we celebrated with a cake from the supermarket. Yet, those are one of the most treasured memories of my childhood.

There are plenty of bakers in Virginia. Believe me, it's pretty saturated with bakers. So if these policies do not work for you, that's okay too. I am simply not the baker for you, and you are not the customer I am aiming to work with. And that's okay too.

So please be mindful and considerate with your local bakers. Don't mess it up with the person who can make your cake with all the special requests and customizations you want for creating that perfect memory 'cause I promise you, you can't find that at Walmart. This is not just cake, it's a skill, it's knowledge, it's art.
