We have exposed why theft of catalytic converters in vehicles is on the rise. Let's discuss how you can prevent theft and how you can know when it has been stolen from your car.
PRECAUTION
1. Park in a secure location: Choose a well-lit and populated area.
2. Install a catalytic converter lock: A steel shield or cage that covers the converter, making it harder to access.
3. Use a catalytic converter alarm: A device that sounds an alarm if someone tries to remove the converter.
4. Install a skid plate or protector: A metal plate that covers the underside of your car, making it harder to access the converter.
5. Keep your car in a garage: If possible, store your car in a locked garage to prevent access.
Remember, while these measures can help deter theft, they may not be foolproof. Always be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
HOW TO KNOW WHEN ITS STOLEN
1. Loud exhaust noise: A missing catalytic converter will cause a loud, roaring sound from the exhaust system when you rev or accelerate.
2. Rattling or vibration: If the converter is removed, you may feel vibrations or hear rattling sounds when starting or driving the car.
3. Reduced performance: A missing catalytic converter can cause a decrease in engine performance, power, and fuel efficiency.
4. Warning lights on the dashboard: Check for illuminated lights such as the "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" lights. and have the car scab immediately.
5. Unusual exhaust smells: If you notice strong exhaust fumes or a sulfur-like smell, it could indicate a missing catalytic converter.
6. Visual inspection: Look for signs of tampering or removal, such as scratches, cuts, or missing heat shields.
If you suspect your catalytic converter has been stolen, have your car inspected by a mechanic as soon as possible.
THE CATALYST: What you should know.

we now understood the role it plays on our vehicle and environment at large. But why is the theft of this component so high? This is the reason..
Catalytic converter is made of very rare and valuable metals. Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium are the most common metals used in making a catalyst converter. So, with limited supply surrounded by numerous need for application these valuable metals are an attraction.
The picture below is what the metals looks like in the converter.
Let discuss on the way to keep your catalyst from theft and how you can detect when it's missing. Please like our post and follow.

OIL SHORTAGE WITHOUT VISIBLE LEAKAGE.
There are several reasons why a car may experience an oil shortage without any visible leaks. Some possible causes include:
1. Oil consumption: Some engines are designed to consume a small amount of oil, which can lead to a decrease in oil levels over time.
2. Piston ring wear: Worn piston rings can allow oil to seep into the combustion chamber, where it's burned off, reducing oil levels.
3. Valve stem seals: Worn valve stem seals can allow oil to enter the combustion chamber, leading to oil consumption.
4. PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system malfunction: A clogged or malfunctioning PCV system can cause oil to be drawn into the engine, reducing oil levels.
5. Oil evaporation: Engine heat can cause oil to evaporate, leading to a decrease in oil levels.
To diagnose the issue, it's recommended to check the oil level regularly, look for signs of oil consumption, and consider consulting a mechanical if the issue persists.

Steering issues can kill driving fun. A faulty power steering makes driving difficult. Most times, your engineer may recommend a replacement (which is not a bad idea if you can afford it) but you can save some money if you approach a specialist.
It is important to be capable of identifying power steering issue. So, before you conclude you have a steering issue, the following are some car problems you will experience.
1. Your car wanders from left to write while driving. You may want to check your alignment first. But if it persist, you have a steering rack issue.
2. You hear grinding or humming noise while the engine is on.
3. You perceive burning oil.
4. Leakages; fluid will be seen where vehicle is parked. Result of this shortages of steering fluid in the container.

DO YOU SMELL FUEL IN YOUR CAR?
You need to be sure the smell is coming from your car. Once this is confirmed, it is important you inform your mechanic immediately as this can cause fire hazard. The following are the reason(s) this may have happened: FAULTY FUEL INJECTOR, BAD FUEL TANK COVER, FAULTY FUEL FILTER, BLOCKED OR LEAKING EXHAUST SYSTEM, OVERFILLED FUEL TANK, FAULTY CARBON CANNISTER AND SOME OTHER RELATED FUEL LINE SYSTEM ISSUES.
It is important this issue is address immediately.
You may have experienced turning on your engine and after some moment you try turning it back on and it just won't start. Before you are told your fuel pump failed and what's not, we want you to know that a bad grounding wire can actually be the cause. Here are some signs in your car that you have a bad grounding "earth" wire.
1. Electrical devices fails sporadically.
2. Dim or flickering lights
3.AC compressor clutch failing
4.Fuel pump failure
5.ECU malfunction
6. Ignition coil failure.
The phrase "a bad grounding wire" used does not mean the wire is bad. It can be due to improper earthing or corroded surface which is repaired by sanding both connector and surface.
