Summer's not here yet, but the first rays of sunshine have already made their appearance here in Portugal.

I am going to give you a few of my tips.

TIP 1
For my face serum, I choose plant oils rich in carotene:
✓ Carrot oily macerate
✓ Rosehip oil,
✓ Raspberry seed oil.

With energizing essential oils for a feel-good effect:
✓ Distilled orange
✓ Bergamot without furocoumarins
✓ Lemon without furocoumarins, to avoid any risk of allergy

TIP 2
To prevent seasonal hay fever allergies: a small inhaler stick with the following essential oils:
- tarragon 2 drops
- ravintsara 6 drops
- eucalyptus radiata 9 drops.

TIP3
For a natural liver detox, infused nettle leaves for 3 weeks.

Hydrolats or hydrosols are mostly produced as byproducts of essential oil distillation.
Hydrolats are much milder than essential oils, as they are less concentrated.

Hydrolat can be used daily as a tonic lotion, or as a replacement for tap water to cleanse the skin, make cosmetics such as clay masks.

Be aware that hydrolats and floral waters differ in the type of manufacturing, thus skin beneficial properties.

Essential oils have their benefits, but they should be used with care.
During pregnancy, some of them such as cedar wood, palmarosa, cinnamon, rosemary and sage are not recommended .

Always take medical advices during the first 3 months of pregnancy.

From the 4th month onwards, certain essential oils could be used, mainly by massaging and dilute with vegetable oils (5% essential oils max) such as :
✓ Tea tree
✓ Fine lavender
✓ Lemon w/o furocoumarin
✓ Roman Chamomile
✓ Eucalyptus radiata
✓ Geranium
✓ Bitter orange
✓ Rose
✓ Ylang ylang
✓ Ravintsara

The quality of essential oils must be beyond reproach.

At a time when love reigns supreme, what better way than to talk about essential oils that boost libido.

♥ Ylang-Ylang essential oil immediately comes to mind. 1 drop mixed with 4 drops of vegetable oil to massage into the lower back for 10 days, 2 times per day.
♥ Sandalwood essential oil. Stimulates libido. Relaxes and awakens the senses.
♥ Ginger essential oil can also be used. It increases energy and blood circulation.
♥ Rose essential oil is considered a natural aphrodisiac. It helps balance emotions and relaxes.
♥ Patchouli essential oil is renowned for its aphrodisiac properties and relaxing effect.

It's mountain and ski season!

Many of us like to go to the mountains to invigorate ourselves. Whether you're a skier or not, winter mountain air is harsh on the skin, so here are a few natural remedies to protect your lips:

✓ Exfoliate to remove dead skin cells and regenerate skin cells.
✓ Create a moisturizing lip balm. Rich in shea butter. It will moisturize and repair chapped lips.
✓ Use a lip day product with SPF 15 or higher

Are you going through a stressful time and need to calm down?
Here are a few calming essential oils:

✓ Ylang-ylang essential oil : a tranquilizer and nerve tonic. It lowers blood pressure.
✓ Laurel essential oil : very useful in cases of anguish, anxiety or latent depression.
✓ Bitter orange essential oil: used against anxiety. Has a relaxing effect.
✓ Roman chamomile essential oil : soothes nervousness.

There are many remedies for insomnia. Some herbal remedies can help.

✓ Roman chamomile essential oil: relaxing and soothing properties, calming stress and promoting sleep.
✓ Marjoram essential oil: sedative properties promoting relaxation and sleep.
✓ True or fine lavender essential oil: calming and sedative properties.
✓ Valerian essential oil: effective against sleep disorders and anxiety. It helps calm nervousness and promotes sleep.
✓ Bergamot essential oil has relaxing qualities.
✓ Mandarin essential oil: soothing effect on the nervous system and help reduce insomnia caused by stress and anxiety.

It can be inhaled, diffused or applied to the skin (diluted in vegetable oil).
Now you can put 1 drop onto your cushion or bed sheets before going to sleep.

It's cold, it gets dark early. You're tired and don't know what to do with your winter days. Create a hygge atmosphere.

Burn a candle🔥with the intoxicating scent of vetiver (woody, earthy and smoky notes), a tranquilizing essential oil. You can also use black birch, oud, a fragrance of character with leathery notes, or energy-purifying palo santo.

Today I present my winter essentials.🌲🌲🌲

Shea butter to care of my lips.
I blend it with calendula oily 🌻macerate and natural beeswax.
Thanks to omega 9 it will soften my lips and act as a film barrier.

Into my face serum Sea Buckthorn CO2 seeds extract for sure.
It gives a natural glow to my skin that whitens with lack of sunlight.

For a cocooning effect, I make myself a little roll-on with both benzoin and vanilla absolute on a vegetable oil base. Argan oil is my favorite for this season.

For a healthy glow and eliminate dead cells, I make a weekly mask combining pink and white clay. In case of some acne green and white clay plus spirulina are also a good option, and green.

I also have a natural emergency kit with a few essential oils :
✓ Colds : tea tree, ravintsara, eucalyptus radiata or globulus
✓ Sore throat : niaouli
✓ Mouth ulcers : laurel

Friday, the 8th was the World Climate Day.🌏
Let's highlight the urgent need to act in the face of the climate changes affecting our planet. But did you know that the climate can also have an impact on our skin?

Maintaining adequate hydration 💦is important to protect skin from the dryness associated with dry air and climate change.

It's important to protect yourself from the increasingly intense UV rays 🏖with creams that respect the environment. Sunscreen with mineral UV filters.

It's important to cleanse your skin properly with natural products 🧼, especially if it's sensitive, as it's more reactive to climatic variations. Use products rich in vitamin C and E to help prevent the signs of premature aging and strengthen the skin barrier.

🔆The power of Cinnamon essential oil.
Let yourself be enchanted by the warm, spicy aroma of cinnamon essential oil this winter. It has many benefits perfect for winter.

Cinnamon essential oil has a warming nature that helps stimulate blood circulation, providing a pleasant sensation of warmth on cold days.
It boosts the immune system: antibacterial and antiviral properties.

It relieves tired muscles: anti-inflammatory properties make it an excellent choice for soothing muscles. Diluted in a vegetable oil, it soothes dry skin and protects against external aggressions.

You can diffuse cinnamon essential oil to create a warm, comforting atmosphere.

Take advantage of its benefits in winter to warm and pamper yourself naturally!

❗ Always dilute it!

With this cold, dry winter weather, lips tend to dry out.
What could be better than a melt-in-your-mouth lip balm with honey?

For this recipe you need :
✓ 1 container (15mL aluminum can or glass jar)
✓ 2.7g castor vegetable oil
✓ 2.7g sweet almond vegetable oil
✓ 2.7g shea butter
✓ 1g coconut vegetable vegetable oil
✓ 1g yellow beeswax
✓ 1g liquid honey
✓ 8 to 11 drops of aromatic vanilla or coconut extract
✓ 4 drops vitamin E

Pour the castor oil, sweet almond oil, coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax into a bowl.
Heat the bowl in a bain-marie over low heat (be careful not to let the water boil).
When everything has melted, remove from the heat and pour in the honey, aromatic coconut or vanilla extract and vitamin E.
Pour the still-liquid contents into the jar while stirring. Place in the fridge for 20 minutes. Close when cold.

With the cold weather on its way, it's important to protect yourself.
Here are a few oils that can help:

My favorite vegetable oils :
✓ Avocado oil: rich vitamin E, deeply moisturizes
✓ Sweet almond oil: soothing, softening, protective barrier
✓ Argan oil: moisturizing and regenerating, ideal for dry or sensitive skin.
✓ Coconut oil: nourishes and protects the skin, leaving a sensation of softness. It can also be used on chapped lips
✓ Olive oil: nourishes and softens the skin.

For essential oils (EO) :
✓ Lavender EO: soothing and skin-repairing properties
✓ Geranium EO: maintains hydration
✓ Sandalwood EO: moisturizing and regenerating properties
✓ Peppermint EO: refreshing sensation, relieves cold-related itching
✓ Roman chamomile EO: soothing and can relieve cold-related skin irritations

Don't forget to dilute essential oil in vegetable oil before applying.

Would you like to have a wellness ritual every day but don't know how to go about it ?
Here are some advices :
✓ Create a relaxing atmosphere by lighting scented candles and playing soft music.
✓ Choose a relaxing essential oil such as true lavender, ylang-ylang or chamomile. Add a few drops to your essential oil diffuser and let the fragrance spread throughout the room.
✓ Mix a vegetable oil of your choice (sweet almond oil or jojoba oil), with a few drops of essential oil. Use this mixture to gently massage your body, focusing on areas of tension such as shoulders, neck and feet.
✓ Find a guided meditation to suit your well-being needs. It is good for relaxation, self-confidence or stress relief.
✓ End your wellness ritual with a few gentle stretches to relax your body. Concentrate on areas that are usually tense, such as shoulders, back and legs.

Trouble falling asleep?

Here are some tips to improve your sleep.

Here are a few relaxing essential oils to help you feel deeply rested:
✓ Lavender
✓ Sandalwood
✓ Bitter orange
✓ Roman chamomile
✓ Verbena

For insomnia, mandarin essential oil can be helpful.

They can be used :
✓ In a diffuser : diffuse one hour before going to bed.
✓ Orally: 1 drop of lemon or chamomile essential oil in a spoonful of honey in herbal tea

We all use cleaning products for our homes.
Are you familiar with the making of eco-friendly cleaning products?

Here are some of the products I make that may be useful to you.

First of all, for linen and the easiest one :
✓ Boiled Water (1L)
✓ Marseille soap flakes 50g

A very simple toilet disinfectant (1L) :
✓ 2⁄3 of water
✓ 1⁄3 of white vinegar
✓ 30 drops of essential oils: Eucalyptus globulus, Tea Tree, Lemon, Scots Pine For the window-cleaning version, add 30 drops of lemon essential oil

A multiple purpose sprayer :
✓ Boiled Water (1L)
✓ 2 tablespoons sodium carbonate/soda ash
✓ a 25cl glass of black soap paste
✓ a mixture of essential oils : eucalyptus globulus, lemon, tea tree, Scots pine (30 drops for 1 L)
