Hey Y'all !!! It's been a while ... This piece took me a lot of time to do... A lot 🙈 especially with holidays in between and family visiting over. A very intricate mandala painting on an extremely thin handmade paper was super hard in the eyes and the back.... But sooo totally worth it. 💖💖💖 Just love how it turned out...and this baby is Flying all the way to Japan 🇯🇵⛩️🎌 sayonara!!!!

Tried my hand at the pebeo 4artist marker 8mm. It's an oil based marker and gives a brilliant opaque glossy finish.✨ I used it in black for the hair. just how glossy the hair turned out in the otherwise opaque painting.

Childhood in Indiana was difficult because of the way he looked. Being ( Asian-American) it wasn't easy for him to make friends and he spent a lot of time by himself.

Now Using Art for activism, and with a cult following him, the Korean-American artist -Joseph lee, says that he had this idyllic notion that, if he were to ever go back to the motherland, he'd be accepted and everyone [would] look like him and that would be the ideal place to live”’... And there was an awakening in that he didn't feel that way when he was actually in Korea. He felt like an American instead. It was this in-between state of feeling like he didn't belong in either [America or Korea] that turned into this weird identity crisis. It poured out into his art. It started with stripping the eyes, then the mouth, nose, all the facial features that he recognized. He made everything ambiguous .

I can totally relate! Been there... Experiencing it! STOP the STEREOTYPE.

Here is my attempt at 'Pitre' one of his fabulous pieces. I had to really push myself off my comfort zone.

Recently I had a friend visit us and she went gaa gaa over my shoe rack. While I had gotten soooo used to it in the past four years.. I was so kicked to find out that it still kindles the interest of first timers.
This is again another one of my upcycle projects trying to make something drab into fab! 😃🥳💖 This is thrones- the basic plastic shoe storage from IKEA. I used a big piece of my Rajasthank skirt that I was no longer fitting into 😂( thanks to motherhood and all that late night alone time) as a fabric cover. I love how it turned out... And I am indeed super amazed at my visionary thinking for having taken some in- the - making photos too.. (self pat!! We all need it) Haa haaa. Do let me know if u like it as well 🤞

And just like that another year rolled by. Reyaan turned 4 and he couldn't be more excited. This birthday was ultra low key and we decided to restrict the no. Of kids to just 4 .. kids from the neighborhood all of them his age group to make it more meaningful for the kids. however For me -low key???what's that I ask??? .. I simply just did what I love doing - always being over the top.🤣 A very constructive birthday 😉

When I have an artist block, what do I do? Cut the noise out! And then I can hear myself loud and clear 😊 lol. Naaaaaaaaaaa that was me just feeling a bit cute 🥰🤣

Yesterday my lil one came running to me and said "mama I found Ur lamp" and showed me this battered piece of paper.. my concept sketch for my IKEA lamp. 🥰 Trust me it was way easier on the notepad. 😅 I had failed to take into consideration the texture of the lamp which gave me such a tough time. It kept soaking in so much of the paint and getting sooo wet that it lost its shape completely. I was sure I had messed it up. Phew! But what's life without a few risks right.
