Alright, okay. Haven’t posted in a while.

However!

After months (if not years) of procrastination, I've finally updated my portfolio with some of my current projects. More are still in the oven and baking as we speak!

It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. As a perfectionist, it’s damn hard to accept that it's not perfect, but it will never be.

A Look Back on September 11 incredible submissions from the past month.

I have to say this loud: I AM AN EXPERT!

Okay, maybe it was a bit too much but boy it feels good to say it. Two years ago I found a tool which helped me grow and create. As a creative, I use tools constantly. From the good old Photoshop that I first opened in 6th grade to Figma which helps me today to visualize websites in real time.

But the tool that makes websites a reality is Webflow. A place where my designs and solutions can manifest. In these two years this tool helped me bring real progress to businesses small and large. A tool that I am excited to be an expert in.

So from today, I can say that I am not only a Photographer and a Graphic designer. I am a Webflow Expert.

Eventmix - Mixed in new Colors

Short introductions are in order. Audiance - Eventmix, Eventmix - Audiance.

Eventmix is a business born before the pandemic. Created by Sergiu Biriș, a serial entrepreneur. Its mission is to bring virtual events to a whole new level. With a feature set that honestly is growing constantly.

What happened to this project?

Well, two designers joined forces. Stefan Asafti grabbed Adobe XD and I grabbed Webflow, together we refreshed the look and functionality of the website.

The results?

An ever-evolving snappy website. A virtual place that not only looks apart, but its ease of updating makes both the visitors and Eventmix’s team life better.

I think I made a mistake with my domain a few years ago. Let me explain.

I bought my old domain dascalv.com, 2 years ago. I just wanted to have a domain that works….for now….I didn’t realize choosing a domain is just as important as Logo Design. You have to choose one that lasts for years to come. Alas, my old domain was:

- Complicated
- Didn't make any sense
- Google isn’t promoting it

Here is the thing, some people stockpile domains that we may never use, others buy them when they need them.

Whichever is your preferred method of managing domains, there are a few things that you should keep in mind when choosing a domain name. These are my recommendations:

• Length: Is your domain name short, average, or long?
• Memorability: Does your domain name have qualities that make it easy to remember, like rhyme and alliteration?
• Complexity: Is your domain name easy to pronounce and type? Does it have a word that can easily be misspelt or confused for another word?

All of these are criteria by which Google and other search engines rate your domain name.

After thinking about all of these. I decided to switch it up and now you can find my work on www.dascal.design

It has been some time since I posted something. I must admit I was hiding behind the screen. Working on some projects. I am happy to share this one with you!

It has been some time since I had a proper portrait shooting.

To be honest I missed it.

These days, with the obvious Rona situation going on, I forgot how it is to have the camera in hand. How it is to have someone to sit down with and brainstorm shots.

Claudiu Robert brought me out in the open.

He called me up and said, “My dude, the weather people say tomorrow’s day looks sunny, wanna shoot some photos?”

I had nothing much to do, it was between the Holidays. I said “Sure let’s roll”

This is one photo from the album. I must admit it was a refreshing experience.

An honest and candid result I might say. Teamwork between the person in front of the camera and behind it. An experience that starts out a bit weird, but turns into something about self-reflection, discovery and fun.

Gotta say I started the year with a reminder of why I love taking photos. Cheers, Claudiu Robert for the invite. Let’s see what we can come up with in the future.

Every car lover wants to see their ride clean. Here is where Perfect Bilpleje - The Perfectionist comes into play.

They set out to give their customers quality of life improvement. Whether it is a simple routine cleaning or thorough detailing of the car. They will make sure to give your car the shine it needs.

My mission was to create a website that reflect their work and where customers can reach them.

Using Webflow, I custom-built their website with the needs of the customers in mind. A website that loads fast, is easy to navigate and update.

Your personal smart business card

There are small techy stuff out there that make your life a tad bit easier. Most of them you can just buy off the internet.

Others need a little personal touch. We all know the hustle of printing endless paper business cards.

However, the need for them is still present. An elevator pitch or a networking event, all require you to have a way to exchange contacts.

A card that you don't give away and help the environment.

This post is but a snippet from the Case Study from my website. A story of brand, visuals and youthfulness. A vivid vision present in the past of the organization striving for Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind’s potential.

In 2018, AIESEC in Canada set out to understand its customers' needs regarding cross-cultural exchange programs that they have been running since 1958, and how that perspective has changed in today’s world. Keeping up with the trends of the 2010s and the rise of social media platforms, our mission was to create a national visual identity for their Social Media campaign, that is relevant to the customers, the volunteers and the entrepreneurs that come across this brand.

What is a Brief? How can you as a business owner help the project and the process behind it a much smoother experience?

A brief, by definition, is a set of instructions given to a person about a job or task.

In this carousel, I lay out some aspects of why you as a business owner should take your time and do your due diligence. Reflect on your needs and find the solutions the best way possible. A brief helps you realize those needs.

The problem arises when you don't know where to start. What do I have to ask the Designer to achieve the desired results? This is a question that some of my past clients asked me after finishing a project.

The Entrepreneurs and Founders, who keep up with the speed of change have a limited runway. They need the resources in order to further scale their business in their respective niche. That is where Grai shine, they leverage the abilities of entrepreneurs and the vast resources of corporations to develop new ventures. The mission of this project was to centralize their content resources into a single location making it easy to manage, quick to update and accessible for the team.
