If we count the events we truly enjoy, we count the Google Cloud ones twice. 😁 And here’s us… basically everywhere: on the screen, in the speeches, at the booth doing what we love most: spreading digital transformation wisdom. And good vibes.

We’re grateful for all the mentions (thank you so much!), but two of our partnerships were particularly highlighted, showing how we leverage our private sector expertise in the public sector to create a fairer, greener, and more digital Romania. For instance, our collaboration with Ministerul Mediului on the SUMAL 2.0 application allowed us to process 400,684 transport notices and 1.6 million photos in just three days using solutions.

We also teamed up with Poșta Română to support their digital transformation journey. We helped them update their hardware and software, set up a centralized storage system with Google Drive, and cut down their dependence on local servers. We migrated 2,000 employees in just six weeks, achieving a 97% adoption rate with 1,800 active users.

There's a special road in Romania that means a lot to us: Via Transilvanica, “the road that connects.” This 1,400-kilometer long-distance hiking trail runs diagonally across the country from Putna to Drobeta Turnu Severin, aiming to highlight forgotten places affected by economic challenges and help bring them back to life. ⛰️

We're proud to call ourselves , too, for two big reasons:

1. Not that we’d say one stone milestone is sponsored by Zitec, but… well, we just did. ❤️ It’s in a beautiful spot, surrounded by a lovely green (or yellow-ish, for now) landscape, and we can’t wait to share more about it.
2. We were Romanian Business Leaders’ technical partner for their inspiring “RBL on Via Transilvanica” project. It was amazing to see people of all ages, from 18 to 76, come together to walk over 1,400 kilometers. In the first half of 2024, we’ve achieved a 25% growth in the Retail and Distribution sector. Despite consumer caution and a dip in market investments, we’ve continued to grow our portfolio with fresh digital projects across local and European markets. If you’ve heard noises behind our office, well… you can blame Vastint for hosting their annual football championship. So yes, our football crew traded their usual Monday game for a full week of matches—and it’s been quite the week, since we made it all the way to the final. ⚽

We brought home the silver medal, but honestly, it feels like gold when we think about all the colleagues who came to cheer us on, those who watched from home on the live stream, the excitement on our players' kids' faces when their dads scored, and the beers we shared after. This is what makes our experiences golden, no matter the podium—the genuine spirit of community and always having each other’s backs. Literally, if we’re talking about two particular penalties. 😂

There are plenty of morning coffees that we love: the one before we’re fully awake, the cafeteria coffee during our first meeting, coffee with a Friday joke, or the one and only Saint Roastery coffee right here at the office ❤️. But yes, flat white & espresso hit the spot too.

If you know us, you know we’re coffee lovers. And whenever we get the chance to brew this passion further, we’re there. That’s why, yesterday, Saint Roastery treated us to a professional coffee tasting session. We got to learn about dry aroma, wet aroma, cupping, the flavour wheel, and even how altitude affects acidity. The experience was the perfect blend of community, fun, and shared passions.

And speaking of coffee, tomorrow’s the big day: Code2Cup – a barista competition for IT pros, alongside a coffee “festival” in Bucharest. We still have a few tickets left if you want to join us and cheer on the Zitec team. And thanks, Saint Roastery, for training our collagues - you did art with their skills, and not just latte art. 🙂

Our trophy shelf is running out of space (but we’re not complaining! 😂). After five demanding stages, including some intense competition against our beloved Mirro boat & unicorn—because let’s face it, it’s no small task to beat a unicorn—we’ve secured the Romanian Cup gold.

We weren’t always sure we’d win, but we were always certain of the camaraderie we’ve built on the boat—a camaraderie strong enough to move seas. It’s all about coordination, understanding each other’s strengths, knowing where help is needed, and, most importantly, approaching everything with a sense of fun. It never got easier; we just got better and better. Plus, our free sailing courses for the entire Zitec team have expanded our crew, so don’t expect to see us off the podium anytime soon! ⛵

We’ve just taken another significant step towards a fairer and greener Romania through our partnership with the Ministry of Environment (Ministerul Mediului - România)! 🌳

This collaboration between Google, MMAP, and us builds on the success of last fall's pilot project, which focused on advanced data analysis from the SUMAL 2.0 application in November 2023. During the pilot, we processed 400,684 transport notices and 1.6 million photos in just three days using solutions. Without this technology, it would have required a team of 125 people and taken ten times as long. Our solution uses 49 parameters and advanced to not only identify elements in images but also reveal complex relationships and hidden meanings.

The impact has been impressive: fines totaling 3.84 million lei were issued, and 1,038 cubic meters of wood worth 281,000 lei were confiscated. This project not only pays for itself but also adds a significant surplus to the state budget. 📈

Fresh air, mountain views, and amazing company - our Hiking Tribe had a great weekend in the Bucegi Mountains. It's one of those moments where work takes a backseat to laughter, shared stories, and hiking. We love seeing our teams bond over shared passions outside of work - maybe next time a guitarist from the Music Tribe will join, or someone from the Book Club to share stories—or we might even see what the Sailing Tribe can add to the mix. 😂
