We just finished Panel 2 of Day 1 of the Foreign Investors Summit 2023, where we learned from some of the most experienced and knowledgeable speakers about the driving forces behind investment and job creation in Romania with our panel of key players. sharing their perspectives, challenges, and solutions. Some of the highlights from Panel 2 include:

Cristi Vasilcoiu, State Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity: It's gratifying that we no longer have more retirees than employees; we have 6.5 million employees with a work card, plus those working on PFA or other forms.

Andreea Voinea, HR Executive Director at BCR: The upskilling area is the most important trend today. Professions change from one year to the next and people need to be prepared for new jobs. Multinational companies need to be competitive in the labour market and offer good equipment and working conditions to people in their communities.

Cristian Nevzoreanu, Executive Director Public Affairs and Communication at Groupe Renault & Automobile Dacia: One job in the automotive industry, which I represent today, generates up to 10 other jobs at suppliers, but in some areas there is a need for labour brought in from abroad and this is also seen in our suppliers, for example in the wiring industry, which cannot find labour in Romania.

Tudor Popp, Founding Partner at Hotspot WorkHub: Co-working spaces in Bucharest are somewhere around 5-7% of all offices, quite low. It should reach 30% of the total by 2030.
