MyVA Multiplier Event summary Tuesday 28th of March 2023:
We had the pleasure of hosting a multiplier event for entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship educators on the 28th of March at the MTU Kerry Campus. The event provided a chance for networking while also showcasing the established MyVA toolkit for entrepreneurs and solopreneurs. Through the MyVA website, we provided all participants with the opportunity to acquire and explore free tools for their business or entrepreneurship training.
We had a productive and enjoyable afternoon with a presentation from Dr Breda O' Dwyer on entrepreneurial practice. Breda shared her wisdom and insights on the entrepreneurial mindset. She highlighted ways in which we all have developed this mindset and importance of nurturing this practice in our lives.
The event was organised by Catherine Moylan and Dr Kristin Brogan and Conor Myers as the project assistant deserve particular mention. We appreciate everyone who attended, and we hope participants will benefit from it going forward.

BABO Partnership meeting at MTU Tralee Campus
On the 1st and 2nd of February at MTU Kerry Campus we had the pleasure of hosting the second transnational partner meeting for BABO. The BABO project’s main focus is teaching a second language at preschool age in an innovative way, offering ECEC (Early Childhood Education and Care) educators and families new educational methodologies and digital resources. The project is engaged in the production of learning materials based on children’s multiple intelligences to foster early language acquisition. Partners came from all across Europe – Spain (Universidad de Extremadura, Baby Erasmus, The Glow Animation Studio and Smart Makings), Austria (La Rueda), Portugal (Technologias Imaginadas), Belgium (Superlexi) and Ireland (MTU AND Mother Tongues). We had two productive meeting days and a special mention to Dr Kristin Brogan and Prof Muiris Ó Laoire for the warm welcome to Tralee and to Conor Myers a fourth-year student of Marketing for making the necessary preparations.

What is an entrepreneur?
A person who is inventive and enterprising and who creates new business opportunities is often called an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is about creativity, initiative, experimentation and diversity. Entrepreneurs are found in all groups: men and women, native-born and immigrant, young and old, educated and uneducated, rich and poor, metropolitan and rural.
What are the characteristics of an entrepreneur?
There are many typical characteristics of an entrepreneur. The following characteristics are examples that are important elements for success as an entrepreneur:
• A strong desire to turn an idea into reality.
• A good ability to organise their business.
• Solution-oriented
• Risk-taking
• Self-reliant
5 reasons why companies should hire a virtual assistant
1. Reduced costs
Instead of hiring a person, to perform minor tasks, you can hire a VA.
A VA is usually specialized in one or a few areas, which makes them professionals at what they do.
2. Increased efficiency - delegation
When administration is scaled back, the company can focus on what really requires your expertise. Administration is time-consuming and it doesn't have to be done by the teams in the company.
3. Quickly scale up your business
A VA can help you scale up your business quickly, by bringing in specialist skills at short notice and working on an assignment basis.
4. Global customer service
Virtual assistants are located all over the world and can help companies with some customer service in the time zones where customers are located. In this way, companies with a global customer base can still maintain a healthy work-life balance.
5. Freeing up time for planning
Because a VA can take care of administration, companies can free up time to focus on strategic and long-term planning and business development. Have time to set goals that will help the company move forward, achieve even better results and success.
