Snails
Snails are the common name for gastropod mollusks (lat. Gastropoda), which have an outer shell.
Snails are distributed throughout the world. The greatest number of species lives in the coastal zone of tropical and subtropical seas.
In the body of the snail, a head, a leg and an visceral sac are distinguished, from which the mantle fold extends.
Small snails are able to move due to the beating of cilia.
In addition, the epithelium of the leg secretes a large amount of mucus, which contributes to a better glide over the surface of the substrate.
Snails move on the lower surface of the leg (sole), driving along its wavelength of muscle contractions.
