Hello everyone. My name is Ekaterina Chistova. I am a member of the RBS club (Russian Society of Budgie Lovers)
Here I will tell you about my hobby. It all started in 2017 with my budgie Stesha. When Stesha talked confidently and a lot, they bought him a friend Malvina. So there was a couple 💞
The first Exhibition budgies appeared in 2018. I was very impressed by the size, calm temperament and variety of colors of these beautiful birds!
The first time I spent collecting colors. Houses began to appear: classics, spangles, opalines: green, light green, gray, cobalt, etc.
Quite by chance I found out that it is necessary and necessary to work with GDP to improve the size and "type" of the bird! From that moment on, I realized that I wanted to engage in breeding and breeding. So there were large Italian Ferplast Planeta aviaries in the amount of three pieces at home and two outside the city. Now I am working with 8 Ferplast Rekord-4 adjustable cages with large nest boxes made of different materials (so that the females have something to choose a comfortable nest from)Thus, I try to create the most comfortable conditions in the maintenance of my birds! In the nutrition of my feathered wards, I think through everything to the smallest detail. I would say that everything has grown from just a hobby into a very intense hobby!
Our breeding season is year-round. The only break I take is in the intense heat in summer.
In my opinion, it is very convenient to work with a bird when you have several aviaries. For example, I have one of the aviaries for creating pairs: birds with the right lines (genes) are planted. Thus, pairs are formed in a natural way, ready to go to the nest!
Colors are secondary for me: there are classics, spangles, opalines, dominant-variegated, etc. of various colors. I work with crested GDP. The size of the bird, the beauty of its cap and the length of the feather are important!
I rely on breeding: both on my intuition, and I take into account the rules of parovki. I use reasonable inbreeding.
My GDP is from breeders' birds of the Russian Federation, Switzerland, Hungary, Ukraine.
The purpose of my breeding is to approach very smoothly the acquisition of a bird that inspires🦋
Sincerely, Ekaterina Chistova, Moscow, April 2023

Good afternoon! My name is Anna Ivanova, I'm from St. Petersburg.
I have always loved animals, especially birds. It was interesting for me to come to the zoo to look at parrots, especially the aviary where the budgies lived was fascinating, there were so many of them there that it just fascinated me, and I thought I would like such an aviary. My grandmother helped me develop my interest and at various times I had – siskin, goldfinch, canaries and budgies. Canaries even brought me offspring, which fueled my interest in studying birds. It was extremely interesting for me to watch how a new life develops from an egg to a bird. While studying at school, I even decided to become an ornithologist, live somewhere in the forest and study birds, but my parents dissuaded me. I got another profession, but the desire apparently stuck somewhere deep inside and after a certain time, when I became independent, it revived again, and I got carried away with budgies.
At first I had the usual undulations from a pet store and half-breeds from breeders. I didn't understand either the colors or the field of birds, and even more so in the inheritance of colors and mutations, I bought someone I liked, but at some point, when I saw a small chick, I wanted to do breeding and I began to study literature. After some time, I found out about such a "breed" as GDP and it became my ultimate love! In 2015, I purchased several of these birds. According to the parrot forums, I studied genetics - inheritance of color and mutations. I want to note that this is a very interesting thing.
In my flock, I prefer to have blue-row parrots, as well as yellow-faced ones with a classic wave and spangles, although there are also green birds. I really like the dominant mottled ones with a classic wave. I love gray and purple birds. My dream is to get a purple yellow-faced parrot in my chicks, and not to buy it, but to bring it out myself.
I have a Vkontakte group https://vk.com/clubvolnistyespb ,
where I share my knowledge and observations in the maintenance and breeding of exhibition budgies, show my birds and chicks, answer people's questions, except for the treatment of birds, because this is a very difficult topic for me.
While keeping and breeding budgies, I met many very interesting people in different cities, with some of them we became very friendly. I joined the club because communication with like–minded people is valuable. Our common hobby brings together and unites people of different ages and professions – and this is great!!!

I am Alexander Chekmarev, breeder of Rainbow Budgies,
member of the Rbs club.
As well as a participant of online exhibitions of our club, and a frequent winner in his category.
Love for birds and animals is instilled from childhood.
During my school years I had dogs, cats, hamsters, aquarium fish, squirrel, fox and of course a variety of singing wild birds. In the early 90s, I purposefully acquired and started breeding parrots. At this time, twice a year, chic Fairs and Exhibitions were held in Rostov, where breeders from almost all over the former USSR and also from abroad gathered. The selection of birds was fantastic. Initially, my preference was given to Rosellas and Grass Parrots, but then I became interested in Rainbow Undulations. And for about ten years now I have been breeding Rainbow Budgies. I am very pleased with the opportunity to get a diverse color palette!

Breeder Of Exhibition Budgies. Member of the Rbs club. Participant of the club's online exhibitions. Svetlana Shinkarenko has repeatedly won prizes in the exhibition . Exhibition budgies are love at first sight! !! It all started in April 2016, when we had volnushki in our pet store, but not ordinary, but some large, sedate ones. Only then did I find out that there are exhibition budgies, and there are half-breeds. Here I got such a baby, as it turned out later, this female was called Rituska. It all started with her. And after a while I realized that birds for me are an unexpected love, a favorite hobby that brings a lot of positive emotions. So the flock gradually grew. A variety of colors and mutations began to appear in it. Today, the flock has more than 70 different tails. I am also a member of the RBS club, I participate in exhibitions organized by the club. My birds won prizes, which is certainly pleasing, since the work on breeding Exhibition Budgies is also appreciated by foreign breeders. And also there is an opportunity to look at the results of breeding of other breeders. All information about my birds can be viewed in my social networks and group

Aleksand Khachikov has been engaged in birds since childhood. Even at a young age I saw an exhibition budgie, at that time the standard was certainly different from our time. It was love at first sight. Since then, he has dreamed and aspired to acquire an exhibition budgie. At that time, it was difficult to find such birds of good quality in Russia. The development of this hobby throughout life is very diverse. Also, at the time when Alexander started, there was practically no information and literature. And all the experience is gained by practice, and many issues were solved on an intuitive level. The most important thing is the love for the bird has always been. Alexander saw the first exhibition bird in 1986. Since then, his path began as breeders of exhibition budgies. In 2018, Alexander and Tatiana Ok organized the RBS Club. And they began to develop together. The club of interest in Budgies united many. Since then, Alexander has also participated in online exhibitions within the framework of the RBS club. These exhibitions have been judged and are being judged by Justices of the Peace Bob Wilson, Martin Heylen, Pete Collins. Throughout the journey I have worked with different mutations, there is no one favorite. It has always been interesting to see a variety of types and colors of parrots. Alexander is still breeding exhibition budgies. The built nursery of 130 sq. m. with winter and summer aviaries and a nesting area is being improved daily for parrots. Alexander shows all the most interesting things on his pages on social networks.

Dmitry Lagutin, Kursk, breeder of exhibition budgies, member of the RBS club, the most favorite mutations are lace-makers, Texas celandine, Dominant Motley and Ino.

One sentence can't describe the severity of my journey, so it's worth telling a little more about yourself:

The first budgies appeared to me in 2015, they were completely ordinary birds that are massively sold on ad sites and bird markets. The plans were to get chickens from this couple, but plans tend to change, namely, it often depends on external circumstances. Exactly the same thing happened here: there came a period when a decision was made about nesting, everything went according to plan, but a month or two passed, and the female sat in the nest, but did not lay eggs (spoiler - I did not expect chicks from her, she just continued to sit in the nest). Then I turned to the breeders, experts on the forum, it became interesting for me to read about it, immerse myself in genetics, decided to try with another pair, from that moment there were twice as many birds - 4. I will not explain further where there are 4, 5, 6 birds, there are 10 and 20...

I purchased my first exhibition budgie in 2016. The stunning rich and sunny yellow color fed me, the focus of attention switched to the exhibition budgies.

I will refer myself to the part of breeders for whom color is important, but not paramount, and most importantly - the exhibition qualities of the bird: head, mask, size. I started experimenting with different birds, combining non-obvious pairs and getting a decent result. At that moment I realized that I was interested in it and I was doing it well, the combination of two simple things made me even more immersed in this movement...

In 2018, he became a member of the Russian Society of Budgie Lovers RBS and began to regularly participate in exhibitions held by the club, receiving very valuable feedback on the evaluation of birds from world experts who evaluate the best birds in the world.

It's not for nothing that I identified my favorite mutations from the very beginning, I won't hide that the most attractive mutation for me is Leiswings, which I don't have yet for various reasons, one of which is that there are practically none in Russia. One of my long-term hobby goals is to get a decent exhibition budgie of the Leiswing mutation, which could be evaluated for the highest awards not only in Russia, but also internationally. This goal is not for one or two years, it will take many years, communication with various experts, creating a base for further work and only then - starting work with the mutation itself. The goal has been set, the work is underway, and it should be continued :)
