Softline India's Turnover hits $500M

In 2020, the company's revenue in India totalled approximately $230 million. By the 2021 FY ending on March 31, 2022, this had climbed to $500 million, whereas the total turnover of Softline Group amounted to $2.2 billion.

Softline aims to increase its presence in the custom development market. To this end, the company acquired a local service provider several months ago – Umbrella, an Amazon Web Services Premier Partner. At the same time, Softline is working on developing its cloud service portfolio in India and 60 other countries. The company has also recently acquired an Indian IT company Embee, a leading local provider of solutions powered by Microsoft technology.

In 2021 Softline India participated in a number of social initiatives. For example, the company teamed up with a local charity organisation to help fight hunger and malnutrition by sponsoring school lunch deliveries for children. They also helped supply food to medical workers at a hospital in Mumbai, and participated in a programme to fight children’s cancer. Softline also works closely with the Myna Mahila Foundation, a well-known Indian centre that helps to provide disadvantaged women from Mumbai with hygienic products.

Softline announces strong results for the first quarter of financial year ending 31 March 2023.

• Gross Profit increased by 25.5% in constant currency to $78.2m. Gross profit margin improved to 14.3%.
• The International business, which is now more than 50% of Softline overall, delivered very strong constant currency turnover growth of 44% year-over-year. This was driven by double-digit turnover growth in all international geographic segments.
• IT Services turnover grew 81% year-over-year to $47.7m in reported currency, with gross profit growth of 137% year-over-year.
• Strong ex*****on of M&A with one more deal announced in June 2022, Seven Seas Technology in UAE, in line with its three-dimensional growth strategy.

Softline today announces its intention to proceed with a demerger of its Russian and non-Russian operations, subject to all necessary approvals, including shareholder approval. The announcement follows a review initiated in May 2022 to adjust the group’s assets and ownership structure in order to optimise value for all of its stakeholders. The demerger will allow both companies to continue to provide digital transformation and cyber security solutions and services to existing and new customers in the geographies where Softline currently operates.

One Digital IT Solution for European Bank

The customer was searching high and low for a way to improve access to the bank’s services for their customers. After investigating several options, they finally settled on Azure AD B2C, a Microsoft solution used by millions of consumers for business-to-customer identification. Now, their customers benefit from single sign-in access to the bank’s services, APIs, and apps.

Following an introduction from Microsoft, Softline and ICL, our global sub-contractor, teamed up to showcase the benefits and usability of the solution to the customer through a series of presentations and demos.

Softline then developed, built, and implemented One Digital ID for the bank. Designed as a standalone service, One Digital ID provides User Authentication Management (UAM) for all channels, including internet banking, mobile banking, eLoans (E2E digital loan process) and future channels which are to be based on E2E (end-to-end) digital initiatives. The solution is available to the bank’s customers 24/7 hours a day, 365 days a year, and meets all requirements for uninterrupted service and disaster recovery.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the teams at Softline and ICL teams, the project was delivered in just 9 months.

Softline Development builds customer database storage for Russian Post

Faced with the goal of improving customer service, Russian Post found themselves in need of a storage facility. While contemplating what they might want from their new facility, they came to the realization that making informed decisions about changes relating to commercial activities, running marketing campaigns, predicting customer behavior, etc., requires a consolidated repository of conditioned data.

After winning the tender for the project, Softline Development implemented the main part of the system on the software of one of our partners, Pentaho. The data warehouse now collects information from 10+ corporate information systems, where it is cleaned, normalized, enriched, and deduplicated by the Pentaho Data Integration platform. Pentaho’s Business Intelligence platform is then used to visualize and analyze the information.

This was a sophisticated project in that the data volumes were colossal. Our specialists optimized each step in data processing and downloading so now it’s possible to upload data collected during the day in a matter of hours.

After the insurance company moved its POS system to a data center in Russia, they then needed a contractor to support RedHat JBoss and RedHat Enterprise Linux services in test and production infrastructure in line with the SLA. The customer found Softline Development.

Softline Development’s experts deployed all the necessary production and test infrastructure on virtual servers and provided the required software maintenance services. Now, the customer uses Red Hat JBoss Operation Network for:

Softline Development migrates services for RusHydro enterprise portal

Amidst a growing headcount and a number of new branch openings, RusHydro’s corporate portal was experiencing a number of issues with its functionality and performance, the main one being that it was built on Microsoft Sharepoint 2010, a version no longer supported by the vendor.

After winning the tender to upgrade and customize the platform, the Softline Development team has created a whole new set of services while also improving the existing ones. Among the new features were:

Employees will be eligible to receive equity options worth up to 45% of their annual pay each year at the board’s discretion, when the share price achieves certain growth targets. Options will vest over the period up to five years following issuance, depending on the size of grant. Softline has just implemented an automated 3D design system based on BIM technology for gold-mining company – Polus

During the process, we made extensive modifications to the software in order to calibrate it to the customer’s specific needs, introducing catalogs of standardized BIM elements with the 3D objects used by engineers for designing. Now, the system is operational across all disciplines, allowing Polus to take on the design of industrial construction projects of any complexity.

Bentley Systems software helps create building information models. Their solutions enable businesses to speed up the resolution of issues which arise during the construction of new facilities.

Thanks to the implementation of BIM-technologies, designing and managing documentation is now significantly quicker. By bringing together BIM’s solutions, regulatory and referencing information, and the company’s purchasing management systems, we were able to cut out all the unnecessary and ineffective points in our work processes. Where all data were previously collated, calculated and recorded manually, now, construction documentation is channeled automatically through the BIM system, and specifications are set based on the information gathered during procurement.

Softline sets up ISAS with Microsoft Azure and PowerPlatform solutions

The Institute of Sales Activity Statistics conducts market research throughout Kazakhstan. With 17 offices spread across different regions, the institute was faced with the challenge of minimizing human error when collecting and processing data from sales outlets across the country. They also wanted to speed up the process, improve the quality of reports compiled and, in turn, reduce the overall time spent – given the wide geography of the offices.

ISAS chose Softline to implement the project. After comparing a number of products from different vendors, the company's management were convinced that the ISAS Pro 2.0 solution based on Azure and PowerPlatform services was the best option for them. So, the solution was implemented in all offices on projects totaling 80% of the workload. Softline's team worked with the company's own auditors and managers to help implement the solution ensuring the company made a smooth transition. In the future, the company plans to run 100% of its projects on Pro 2.0, reduce associated costs, improving reporting quality and double year-on-year turnover.
