Africa Improved Foods
Africa Improved Foods (AIF) is a public-private partnership involving DSM, Government of Rwanda, IFC, CDC Group and FMO that is based in Rwanda.
On August 8th, Africa Improved Foods (AIF) led by his CEO Ramesh M D , hosted the President of Madagascar, H.E. Andry Rajoelina, during his three-day official visit to Rwanda. President Rajoelina was on a state visit to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and Madagascar and explore ways of investment cooperation in areas of mutual interest between two countries such as information and communications technology, mining, tourism, infrastructure, and manufacturing. He said that he was impressed by the AIF facility and the fact that AIF produce, transform, and feed the continent. AIF is the major foods manufacturer in Rwanda which include relief products (with Super Cereals Plus for WFP and Sh**ha Kibondo for MoH), as well as the mass market products (with Nootri range), with high quality processes and standards and a turnover of about 90$mil forecast in 2023.
President Rajoelina's appreciation of AIF's efforts emphasize the company's vital role in the region.
On Wednesday 21st June Africa Improved Foods (AIF) hosted the president of Zambia His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema and his delegation, as part of his visit to Rwanda for the bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and Zambia, covering various sectors e.g. agriculture, manufacturing...
AIF is the major foods manufacturer in Rwanda, with high quality processes and standards and a turnover of about 90$mil forecast in 2023, led by the relief portfolio for WFP and the Government of Rwanda.
Part of the program of the visit was a highlight tour of AIF manufacturing premises as well as the new consumer brand and portfolio, Nootri.
Africa Improved Foods (AIF), an African food champion with an impact mission at its core, is a leading producer of Super Cereal Plus.
In 2023, AIF is accelerating its consumers business portfolio, to bring high quality and affordable nutrition to millions of consumers.
Earlier this week we handed over a donation of 7 metric tons of Super Cereal Plus fortified foods (valued at 10,000 Euros) as a gesture from Interfood Group to Inshuti Zacu Daycare Center which takes care of physically and mentally vulnerable children in Kicukiro district of Kigali selected by NCDA Rwanda. It was an honour for AIF to be a part of a gesture as we aim to provide high quality, nutritious foods to all.
The AIF delegation was led by Sharon Khainga (Procurement Director) and Joelle Ntungane (Head of Key Accounts).

We had an amazing Townhall meeting with our Board of Directors this afternoon. We talked about future strategies, plans of growth and incredible progress we’ve made towards ending malnutrition and stunting across the regional. Our team is dedicated to continuous improvement in order to make sure everyone has access to healthy and nutritious foods.
Today our Board of Directors and our Management Team visited MINAGRI where they were hosted by the Minister of Agriculture - Hon. Dr. Mukeshimana Gerardine. During the visit both parties discussed about strengthening our continued partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture & Animal Resources.
Congratulations to all the graduates from UR. We were privileged to award the best performing student from College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. We are proud to usher in this new generation of food scientists.
