Nicolai Funch

Our Story

Nicolai Funch residing in Gothenburg, Sweden is a singer, songwriter and producer originally from Denmark. He has performed and co-written with several Nordic artists such as Maia Hirasawa (SE), Marte Wulff (NO), Simon Lynge (DK) and Lasse Boman to name a few.

His new release "The Life of All", is a soft, meditative and warm acoustic album created with a different approach than earlier: "When I started working on this album it was by mere coincidence. I was in the process of finishing an other album but we had got stuck and I think that I had lost a bit of my creative passion. So I wanted to just record something for myself without any focus on any end goal. I have always worked in a specific order writing songs, first the melody, then the lyrics and when I had a finished song I would record it. This time I just opened Cubase and started recording half of an idea: a guitar bit with a bit of melody with some none sense text. And even though every part of me wanted to perfect things, or change it, or make it sound more original, this time I tried to go with my gut. The mantra was, whatever comes out is good enough, if you discard the idea your discarding the part of you creating."

His earlier releases have earned critical acclaim with songs in rotation on Danish national radio.
