Hello all ModX:ers out there... A final post for the year. A year that has been absolutely fantastic for me and for ModX. I couldn't in my wildest imagination believe that what once started as a "test" to see what ModX could become, resulting in a first digital single and then another, and another, and when we decided to have a vision of an album, would lead to what it has become. Wow... What can I say? All your fantastic comments and encouraging words and reviews... All the radio stations that reached out. All of you who "just" commented on videos on YouTube...

And then a physical album on top of that. Which is also on the verge of selling out. And the Japan deal... Ha ha... :-) Japandeal. At my age :-) As I said - looking back on this is actually a dream come true.

Now, some of you have been irritated by our vision of releasing singles and working on the album in a slightly different way than many others, but we'll take that. We believe in the idea and that our listeners discover more songs. It shows on Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube and the numbers there. The album has a much stable streaming throughout than many other bands that "just" release one or two singles. Songs tend to just disappear. It's just accepting that we live in a different music climate and a different way of consuming music. So our vision to release many singles and work from there and find fans, we feel was the right decision.

So with that said - a HUGE THANK YOU once again. We really couldn't have done this without any of you. Myself and the others involved in the ModX team wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

And oh yes... Speaking of the new year. Is there anything new happening with ModX, some of you may wonder? And indeed, there is. :-) The response the album has received has made us so darn excited that we've decided to make another album. It will take the time it takes. One song is almost ready, and we'll release it in early 2024. Then you'll have to live with the fact that there will be digital singles along the way, and when the stars align and everything is ready, a new CD will drop. But 2024 is a year when a lot of music will emerge from us. With that said - over and out!

Hello dear ModX family,

Today is the day we've all been waiting for – the release of our debut album "Secrets" outside of Japan. It's a moment that fills our hearts with a deep sense of nostalgia and warmth. From the moment we shared "Looking for Closure" back in November 2021, it's been a journey of almost two years. We've encountered our fair share of critics from around the world, suggesting that we released too many singles. But through it all, we held onto our vision of building ModX and helping music enthusiasts discover our melodies online.

This journey has been more than just about music; it's been about growth and evolution. We've reworked and refined our songs, even weaving in new material along the way. Today, we couldn't be prouder of the outcome.

As a bonus on the road we wrote a contract with Marquee Avalon in Japan, resulting in two unique tracks. We're not here to simply flatter; it's a genuine truth. Countless hours have been poured into creating this album, and it's the feedback from every corner of the globe that has fueled our passion.

Hey all you ModX:ers,

Things are really falling into place now. The European album is in print, the Japanese version is out, and we've noticed people writing about us and the album on various platforms. It's just so darn exciting.

The first piece of music we released was "Looking For Closure." The video was posted on YouTube almost two years ago, October 16, 2021. At that point, the album was far from finished. We've written new songs that didn't exist back then and that we felt fit right in during the process, we've remixed tracks to make them blend together seamlessly, we've gone a bit more analog with some, ventured into a modern, almost hi-tech sound with others, and some songs have been left behind, possibly for a future sequel, Who knows, We've switched solos, sweated it out, had a blast, and listened through it all, discussing every detail tons of times.

But let me tell you, it's been worth every single hour, every precious minute.

It's surreal and incredibly rewarding that we've finally reached the point of its release, almost two years since that first video. We know some of you have been frustrated and annoyed by the time it's taken. We wanted to do it right, and we feel that all the time invested has been worth it.

So here's the starting shot - the video for "Looking For Closure." At that moment, we had no idea where this would take us in the world.

Do you know the old saying, "Good things come to those who wait"? This certainly holds true for the singer/songwriter/producer Peter Ericson and his AOR project ModX, who have now released their debut album "Secrets." Several singles have been released to promote the upcoming record. Already in 2021, the first taste appeared in the form of the brilliant song "Looking For Closure." Since then, additional songs such as "Clear Before My Eyes," "Secrets," "Strangers In The Night," and "Rosalie" have been released. The album consists of a total of 13 tracks, with my absolute favorite track being "Caroline," a delightful AOR anthem with a fantastic and catchy chorus.

Now that I've been listening to the album for a while, it strikes me that ModX has a musical style very similar to another Swedish AOR project, Spin Gallery. Anyone who enjoys so-called Hi-tech AOR will not be disappointed with Peter Ericson and the guys because this is a really great album. The album has a very fresh and invigorating sound, something I truly appreciate.

In addition to Peter Ericson, ModX is comprised of the following musicians: Fredrik Hammarström (guitar), Mattias Elmstedt (guitar), and Robert Kurberg (drums).

"Secrets" has just been released in Japan by Marquee/Avalon, where you can also find two awesome bonus tracks. To access the album in Europe, you'll have to wait until October when the record will be released via Atenzia Records. But as I mentioned at the beginning of this text, "Good things come to those who wait."

ModX Announces Exciting News: New Digital Single Release and Japanese Album Deal

Hey there, ModX fans! We know it's been a while since we last checked in, but we've got some incredible news to share with you. We're really happy to announce that we're dropping a brand new digital single on April 28th! We can already hear your excitement!

Now, we know what you might be thinking - "Why another single? You guys have already released so many!" Well, here's the scoop: ModX has recently signed a record deal in Japan, and our recordlabel there wants to release the album in August. They've asked us to hold off on releasing the European edition until after their release, and of course, we're all in for it.

So to keep the momentum going, we're releasing not just one, but TWO more digital singles before the album. The first one is dropping on April 28th, and the second one is coming at the end of June. We promise you, they're going to be worth the wait!

And that's not all - our Japanese album will have TWO exclusive bonus tracks, and the European edition will feature an extra track as well. We've been pouring our hearts and souls into this music, and we can't wait for you to hear it all!

New music in the making! I've been to the studio for many hours the last couple of weeks and have two new songs written and produced. I thought I was finished with the process for the forthcoming album but they just came to me and I thought I should give them a try - and I'm really glad I did! There is a third one as well in the making. We'll see how it ends up. I will share some short samples with you soon as I am really curious what you think of them. It will be a "kill your darlings-race" which songs that will end up on the album!
