Caroline Waters

One of Norway's greatest songwriters, Ole Paus, was a hero of mine. He was also a talkshow host back in the day, in addition to touring the country with his guitar, entertaining us all with his sharp wit, social engagement and compassionate being.

Ole Paus invited me as a guest on his show on several occasions. And I always felt so supported by him, both personally and professionally. Ninni Stoltenberg was cohosting. She was also so lovely and left us too soon.

I'm having a rough day today, feeling a bit out of sorts, not sure how to proceed. Tears are streaming down my face as I write this.

I feel like I have been working so hard for so long to stay afloat as a creative artist, healer and business woman. I have followed my heart at every turn, trusted that life will carry me, believed in my talent, purpose, ability to communicate and to be of service.

All this time, I have invested in my art, my education, my personal healing and in the products that I have created and co-created. And I am super proud of what has manifested as a result; all the albums and songs recorded, all the concerts performed, all the Journey to Vocal Freedom seminars and sessions given, all the incredible collaborations with extraordinary humans, all the love, humor and expansion of consciousness that has followed.

Through the years, I have overcome numerous health obstacles, such as recovering from traumatic brain injury, post traumatic stress, amnesia, eating disorders, broken bones, chronic fatigue, Graves disease and a frozen shoulder.

I have also faced numerous financial challenges, such as con artists, scam artists, hackers, managing an intercontinental career and accruing business debt through the pandemic years.

At each and every turn, I have strived to transform challenges into stepping stones, pain into discovery, doors closed into expanded perspectives and despair into a new sense of hope and possibility.

At each and every turn, my focus has been on what I can contribute with my talent and experience to those who will benefit. I have seen myself as privileged and resourceful, with so much to give and a strong desire to make a difference in the world.

But the challenges of this last year has made something crystal clear: I can't do it alone!

I need help managing my business. I need help advertising my services. I need help to finish my new album. And I need help to make good decisions about my life in the aftermath of a breakup.

I have so much to offer, but the magnitude of managing all the bits and pieces and decisions to be made to create a healthy balance for my life and work moving forward is paralyzing.

I need help. Can you help me?

It was recently suggested to me that I displayed classic symptoms of Battered Women's Syndrome. My symptoms were as follows: I felt verbally paralyzed, unable to speak out or take a stance in fear of what consequence may follow. I don't remember being battered, but I have experienced near death accidents that have caused post traumatic stress reactions and I have experienced other forms of suppression, such as verbal abuse, scare tactics and withholding.
