New release: The sophomore album of Nala Sinephro is now out in store and we can’t recommend this album enough! Nala cycles between timbres and intensities with such magnetic cohesion, straddling Jazz, Ambient, Progressive Electronic and New Age with such featherweight grace and textural sensitivity that she might as well have released the whole package as one unbroken track. But instead she divides the album into ten tracks called Continuum 1-10 to give each track a life of its own with different highly acclaimed Jazz celebrities featuring on every track. Definitely one of the best releases so far this year! 🎶🎶

Googoosh is the royalty of Persian music, singer of countless ear-worm pop tunes from the 1970s, but the Iranian singing sensation represents so much more. Googoosh represents the vibrancy and empowerment of the pre-revolutionary period in Iran. Blending the traditional sounds of West Asia with a kind of 1960s pop sensibility, Googoosh quickly became a cultural icon in Iran; women across the country rushed to copy her hairstyle and fashion sense, characterised by mini-skirts and bright colours.

Master Wilburn Burchette was first known from his ads, hidden in the back pages of Fate Magazine, Beyond Reality, and Gnostica News. On offer: Burchette’s seven-part, block printed “Physic Meditation Course” designed to teach people how to listen to music. To go along with his lessons, Burchette sold a series of instrumental guitar and electronic records featuring ornate hand-drawn cover designs, complete with instructions from the Master himself. Since just his twelfth year, Burchette had been transfixed by the parapsychological, spending as much time reading books on Tibetan mysticism fundamentals as he did practicing his guitar, the vibrations of which he used to create tonal pictures and patterns. After time spent teaching classical guitar, Master Wilburn Burchette released seven albums in the seven years spanning 1971 through 1977, before abruptly burning and discarding everything related to his musical explorations.

Some of these impossible to find records have now been reissued by one of our favorite labels Numero Group, and they are available as mail order in our Yoga-Jazz section over @ djungelochjazz.se 🧘🏽

Beautiful new release from the Red Hot Org. “The Magic City” is the third album in the Red Hot & Ra series. The entire album was imagined, produced & curated by Meshell Ndegeocello and features players like Marshall Allen and Immanuel Wilkins to name a few. The tunes are dreamlike strange & soulful interpretations of Sun Ra compositions. Highly recommended for fans of modern Spiritual Jazz. 🌿🎷
