Some of the best things about our job is to work so close and collaborate with amazing artists and excellent craftsmen!
Here you have some pictures of Emma Löfström, artist, and Spågan with Ola Hansson, craftsmen, in the process developing the Marquetry wall at Studio Frantzén.
Artist words:
“The Marquetry wall tells a story about an enchanted Swedish forest, the mystique of the vast north, where nature meets urban architecture as we see a lot in Stockholm with surroundings.
In the glades there are traces of metamorphosis, like talking owls and bewitched trees, and subculture presented in the leftovers from a forest rave. Typical nordic scenes like a sauna and a person about to take a swim in a forest lake also appear”

Another amazing collaboration that we are so happy about is Front’s chandelier specially designed for Studio Frantzén.
Artist words:
“We wanted to create a grand candle chandelier relating to the Scandinavians’ love for candles. A light installation with hundred candles illuminating the vast ceiling height of the restaurant. The asymmetrical and light structure gives a dynamic expression to the installation that creates an illusion that the candles are levitating in the room.

We are so super happy about this collaboration!
Artist words:
The motif is inspired by a combination of Nordic nature, both fauna (for example common species like: bullfinch, blackbirds, corncrake, viper and bear) and plants (like cloudberry, red currant, pinetrees and tulips) and also edibles like leeks and forest mushrooms.
The idea is built around creating an imagery out of the ordinary in a restaurant concept, with added esoteric elements like the skull and contemporary hints like the smiley, mixed with more festive motifs like jewellery, lacquer/leather, lucky charms and a mask left over from a decadent masquerade.
Still not too obvious but leaving you with a wonder of associations and setting the tone for the whole unravelling of the dining experience at Frantzen.

Reception at Studio Frantzén at Harrods
Yes! Studio Frantzén at Harrods is now officially opened. This has truly been one of our most exciting projects and we are so happy and proud for all the fun collaborations. Here the Swedish artist Ragnar Person has made a fantastic art work in the dome. And of course the Dalahäst is present. Look out for more…
