Sneak preview of the dance film "SITA by Raja Ravi Varma" to be screened in Sydney, Australia on Friday 7th June 2024. SITA is a dance performance film inspired by selected paintings of Raja Ravi Varma of Sita the heroine of the Ramayana epic. SITA’s stirring music score brings the poetry of 10th century works of Kambar in Tamil, to give life to the paintings through dance choreography in the Indian classical dance style of Bharatanatyam. Each dancer portraying Sita is adorned with replica costumes as painted by Raja Ravi Varma. This dance film has been shot using CGI technology incorporating the scenes as painted. Music composition by Dr Rajkumnar Bharathi, vocals by Bombay Jayashri Ramnath The film screening will include an illustrated talk by the artistic director Aravinth அரவிந்த் Kumarasamy குமாரசாமி.
