Last month’s Themed Class with Sienna was such a blast. Thank you everyone who joined us, from seasoned Pilates practitioners to golfers giving their first go at Pilates! 🙌🏽 It was wonderful getting to know all of you and we hope you tookaway many learnings that you can apply in your sport as well as daily tasks. Remember, rotational movement is key not only in sport, but is also involved in a plenty of functional tasks in our day to day - think getting out of a chair, lifting or reaching to get the seatbelt, all of which transfer weight or force through multiple joints and planes and will benefit from thoracic spinal mobility. All the benefits of a Reformer workout, with a little cardiovascular oomph! 🫀💪🏼 Last month’s Cardio Reformer sessions worked up a sweat as we powered through a full-body workout incorporating jumps, weights and exercises at a higher intensity. It is a great way to challenge the core, elevate the heart rate and train coordination all at the same time. This month’s Themed Class explores a full 60 minutes on the Pilates Box, and will introduce some cardio along with new challenging exercises on the Reformer that you don’t want to miss. 🌎 A Challenge for You This World Pilates Day! 🌎 To celebrate World Pilates Day on 4th May, we are going back to the classics and challenge you to show us ANY three of the 34 Classical Pilates exercises! Of course, we did not come up with this challenge without first trying it ourselves - the Focus Team took our mats out and attempted the exercises as well. We put this video together just for you, and it features not only our Pilates instructors, but also physios, front desk staff and managers giving the exercises a shot! Now, it’s your turn to show us what you’ve got! Here’s what you have to do to take part in the challenge: 1) Film yourself doing ANY three of the 34 Classical Pilates Exercises 2) Post the exercises on your Facebook story and tag Focus, or simply send your videos to us via DM Submission is open now through 31st May 2024. Curious to know what happens during a physiotherapy session? We asked Senior Physio Christine to break it down for you!💡 We understand that a first-time visit can be a little nerve-wracking as you are not sure what to expect or may wonder if the discomfort you are feeling requires physiotherapy at all. As a general rule of thumb, we encourage you to come for an initial assessment if you have been feeling pain or discomfort for more than two weeks.
