Our students have been working very hard on their first-ever big-screen appearance in the NDPeepsโ Virtual Choir MV! ๐คฉ MINDS Lee Kong Chian Gardens School (LGS) students Shiraini Belle Osorio Singh, Muhd Firas Bin Muhd Faris, and Muhammad Anaqi Syah Bin Abdul Nasir had less than a month to prepare for their performance. They spent hours memorising the songs, learning melodies, and rehearsing with students from other schools. They were very happy and proud of their performance โ and so are we! They canโt wait to see their virtual performance showcased on National Day ๐ธ๐ฌ The pre-recorded performance will be broadcast during the National Day Parade celebrations at the Padang, and on television. Keep your eyes peeled to catch our little stars shine ๐ #sgminds #specialneeds #intellectualdisability #NDP #NDP2024

On March 21st, we honour World Down Syndrome Day, an important date chosen to symbolize the trisomy of the 21st chromosome, which is responsible for Down Syndrome (DS). Letโs wish these unique individuals a Happy World Down Syndrome Day today! โจ One of them is Ming Rong, who faced difficulties expressing herself, after being diagnosed with Down Syndrome at a young age. What a blast that we had during The Purple Parade last Saturday! ๐ This year, we broke our record with over 13,000 attendees at The Purple Parade โ four times the size since 2013! ๐คฉ It was a spectacular showcase of talent and camaraderie, with a host of dance and music performances that allowed performers of different abilities to shine. Carnival booths added to the festive atmosphere, raising funds for organisations that support people with disability. ๐๐ถ Of course, the highlight of the event was the march around Suntec City comprising about 8,000 people from over 140 organisations, and led by the Purple Parade Contingent! It was a powerful display of solidarity and support for inclusivity. ๐ We are proud to be part of this significant movement and are grateful for all the support we have received from everyone - caregivers, clients, and the public alike. ๐ #sgminds #intellectualdisability #PP23 #LetsAllGoPurple
