Seniors from Wellness@Buangkok had a memorable day at the National Museum of Singapore with our lovely volunteers from Barclays! They toured the History Gallery and entered Memory Lane, curating their own digital memories as part of the museum experience. They also had a relaxing time in the music booths, listening to familiar tunes from the past that took them back to when they were young. ๐ต
A huge thank you to our volunteers from Barclays for reconnecting our seniors with their cherished memories , helping them strengthen their social skills and for the A+ company! ๐โค๏ธ๐
Did you know? A new Duke-NUS Medical School study reveals that informal caregiving for seniors in Singapore is valued at S$1.28 billion annually, equivalent to 11% of the government's healthcare expenditure!
This underscores the critical, yet often overlooked, contributions of caregivers to our healthcare system. By recognising and addressing their challenges, Singapore can build a more inclusive and supportive environment for both caregivers and seniors.
Our CEO, Dr. Christina Tiong, advocates for societal and organisational support, including caregiving leave and flexible work arrangements, to help caregivers balance their responsibilities and maintain their well-being.

For the past three years, Mdm Zuridah has been receiving nursing care from senior staff nurse Carolyn. The COVID-19 lockdown was a particularly challenging period, often leaving her without food as she had difficulties leaving the house by herself. Knowing her situation, nurse Carolyn would help buy food for her whenever she came for home visits.
In 2022, frequent falls led to multiple hospitalisations. Recognising the severity of the situation, her daughter, with the help of a social worker, hired a helper to care for her.
Now, with the helper's support, Mdm Zuridah is happier and attends rehabilitation sessions, determined to walk again. She embraces a positive outlook: โWhen you want things to be better, you need to make yourself better.โ
Mdm Zuridahโs journey is a powerful reminder of resilience and the importance of community support. Help us support more patients like Mdm Zuridah by donating to our ongoing campaign! โจ
