Our volunteers are trained to provide vital signs monitoring to our community dwelling seniors. This allows the seniors to be proactive towards monitoring their own health measurements such as Blood Pressure, BMI and Capillary Blood Glucose.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share how we are shaping preventive healthcare and increasing access to preventive health screening outside of clinical walls through our presence in the community. We thoroughly enjoyed the studentsβ creative re-enactment of how our services can benefit at risk seniors by playing a complementary role with healthcare providers. We hope that we inspired more conversations around enabling access to preventive healthcare in communities across ASEAN!

As we celebrate International Women's Day, it's important to recognize the unique challenges that women with chronic diseases face. Chronic diseases can impact every aspect of a woman's life, from physical health to emotional well-being. Here are some tips for managing chronic diseases as a woman:
Prioritize self-care: Women at times may put the needs of others before their own, but it's important to prioritize self-care when managing a chronic disease. This may include getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, and engaging in regular physical activity.
Seek support: Managing a chronic disease can be overwhelming, and it's important to seek support from friends, family, and healthcare professionals. Support groups can also be a valuable resource for women with chronic diseases.
Educate yourself: Learning about your chronic disease can help you better manage your symptoms and make informed decisions about your healthcare.
Take medication as prescribed: If you've been prescribed medication for your chronic disease, it's important to take it as prescribed. Skipping doses or taking medication inconsistently can worsen your symptoms and lead to complications.
Manage stress: Chronic diseases can be stressful, and stress can worsen symptoms. Finding healthy ways to manage stress, such as meditation, yoga, or therapy, can help improve your overall well-being.
On this International Women's Day, let's also remember that women with chronic diseases face unique challenges and may experience discrimination and disparities in healthcare. It's important to advocate for better healthcare access and support for women with chronic diseases. Together, we can work towards a healthier future for all women.
