We sincerely want to thank Singapore Institute of Architects for organizing this awards and the Jurorsβ for this huge recognition. In Singapore, the award-winning House of Trees with a 'living' facade of greenery L Architects planted 12 trees and bountiful plants in front of two conjoined houses to block off bustling six-lane traffic.

House of Trees got into this yearβs SIA awards shortlist π . Thank you for the support ππΌ
This is our first time designing a multi label kitchen appliances showroom . We spent some time visiting some kitchen appliances stores and realized that most shops do not pride themselves as having much of a retail experience as they typically take on a very ubiquitous presence. We wanted to change that perspective β¦.. to create an atmospheric retail experience . π·: .barr
We are so happy to announce that a brick & mortar shop has been currently shortlisted for 2 awards. We want to thank all our collaborators working on this very special project with us and believing in our vision even after many failed attempts of cutting the bricks . π·: .barr

House of Trees - on the upper floors the central courtyard connects both families while bringing in more natural light & ventilation. π· :
House of Trees - Not everyone gets to choose where they want to live and in this case this plot of land was gifted by an elderly couple to their two sons which happens to be their childhood home . The overbearing traffic situation prompted us to make the best out of this undesirable site by changing the context with nature & structural design .

A peripheral garden.
An apartment designed for a couple and their 2 grown up children. This project was conceived during the pandemic back in mid 2021 where there was a value shift in rethinking about apartment living conditions , people had a renewed appreciation for amenities such as balconies and open terraces. Unfortunately, this apartment had no such amenities and that prompted us to create a peripheral garden at the edge of the living, dining and master bedroom to enhance the sense of bringing the outdoors inside. We carved out a small window at one of the bedrooms that opens out to the platform garden with the intention of creating meaningful connections back to the main living space. π· .lim β¨
