Old Electrical Installations / Incorrect Electrical Wiring Methods are becoming an everday problem and unecessary expense for people.

Get Your Home Inspected / Assessed.

This fault was discovered when a Flourescent Lighting Circuit failed to work at a client premises.

Noticed the burn mark on the nearby earth cable.

The Electrical Installation is estimated to be about 20 years old.

The 415 Volt switch was controlling another piece of equipment and somewhere along the way, someone decided to supply the fluorescent lighting circuit from a single phase on this switch.

The Lighting Circuit should have been supplied from a separate dedicated electrical supply with its dedicated switches, mcb etc...

The lighting circuit cable was fully disconnected and will be rewired to the relevant electrical regulations to prevent this from happening again.

There is an old saying "Not because it works... that its working correctly"

Think again folks

"Incorrect Electrical Design & Installation Methods are costly to the your pocket... and to your life"

Don't be that person that makes that mistake !!!

Repairing a Clients Vehicle Starter / Tire Compressor. Notice the half Moon Shaped Material on the blue cover on the right hand side of left picture. This was stopping the pear shaped valve on the right picture from closing to allow air to stay in the tire when pumped from the compressor. Once this was removed... the device had no further problems. One Happy Client :)

Some People do the funniest of things. :)

Some Food For Thought.

Never Use Handwash Soap Powder in An Automatic Washing Machine.

See the effect it causes.

This problem cost the person an uneccessary expense... in electricity and water by having to do two extra rinse cycles to get rid of the extra soap suds.

Haven't had your Electrical Installation in your house Assessed / Inspected lately?
Now would be the time to do so.
Increasingly Goodview Electrical uncover these sort of faults and more within homes that are over 20 years +. (This particular fault was a cable that had been eaten by Rats and was discovered in the old Radio Station at ST Pauls back in 2010 when their power kept intermittently tripping). These faults can lead to problems i.e. temporary lost of electrical supply when it can be avoided, potential fires if protective devices haven't been tested and are not in working order etc...

Why risk it? The costs are high if you do.

So Don't Delay... Get Assessed Today !!!

Discovered this electrical fault, when a new client had problems with their electric shower.
Pictures shows that the cables were not tightened correctly in the switch, which resulted in electrical arching... when the shower was switched on.
Chemical Liquid from the cables is visible as well from the cable overheating.

Also a 25mm back box was used by the electrician which is to small for this 45 Amp Double Pole Switch. another point is the cables we badly chaffed. The damage is clearly visible with the first two problems.
Had our client not noticed the shower not working properly, then the risk of a potential fire was increased as this switch / cables were on / in a wooden partition wall.

Cowboys / Improper Electrical Installations not only increases the risk to lives but also increases the extra uneccessary costs to clients.

Always hire a registered, certified & qualified electrical contractor who has at least a minimum 5 years electrical experience in the field. (This is very important for your safety and savings).

Another Electrical Fault indentified in a clients house. The 2.5mm Three Core Flex feeding a Solar Panel Immersion Heater has been connected to a 32 Amp MCB which is then shared with a 6mm cable... possibly a shower or cooker circuit, whereas a separate 16 Amp / 20 Amp is needed for the solar / immersion heater.

Using the 32 Amp MCB for the immersion heater circuit only increases the risk of the equipment or cable being damaged or overloaded in the case of the cable reaching its maximum current capacity if an electrical fault arises.

The 32 Amp MCB trip time exceeds the permitted current ratings alowed for this cable. Once again folks... please!!! think twice when considering an electrical project.

Also please think twice in who you hire!!.
Otherwise you will be spending out more than you actually need to.
