I love to decorate with branches, it gives so much natural texture🌱

A house is like a relationship, you fall in love at the first sight, even with the “not very nice” details, you take good care of it, you don’t let it to fall apart. Maybe you will see better ones along the way with more beautiful kitchens, bigger bathrooms, nicer floors, but that doesn’t mean you have to move every month to a new place, because you just love your own.

Im obsessed with luxury real estate since I use internet, regularly checking what’s new on market. It’s a little bit like Tinder, once in a while I find something I fall in love with immediately. Just like this recently renovated Spanish style house in the Hollywood Hills from the 1930’s. Beautiful from inside and outside, nice kitchen, pool area, finishes, landscaping, windows, fireplaces… I would still make some tiny little changes in the interior as always, but that’s just my personal taste.

5+1 ways how to make your bed look (and feel) like a 5 star hotel bed:

1. Choose a hard mattress with a softer topper. It is something you cannot really see, but it’s worth to invest in a good night sleep.

2. Use a double duvet instead of two sets. Should be at least 20cm’s wider than the mattress on both sides and tuck it under the bed frame by the corners.

3. White bedding is a must! Silk, satin, wool or softened linen are good fabrics for sleeping, depending on the season.

4. Have two bigger and two smaller pillows for sleeping, one in the middle as a decoration. Something with pattern.

5. Put a decorative blanket or throw at the end of the bed. It can keep you warm and also protects the bedding when you put a suitcase on it for example.

And lastly (but maybe the most important point) the ironing. It feels like heaven (not the work but the sleeping) I personally prefer the steam iron to get rid off all the undesirable wrinkles. It’s easier to use, you can do it right on the bed.

One of my favorite spots in my old apartment.

Before the renovation this space wasn’t used at all. It was just a landing, kind of a room size hallway between the 2 Bedrooms on this level. The request was to make it usable, so we created a Library/Sitting-reading area here. I guess it turned out to be pretty cozy. To extend the room we added a balcony where 2 people can sit outside comfortably and enjoy the beautiful views of the Austrian countryside.

The first photo is from 2013, the second is from yesterday. The same archway but different vibe. It takes a long time for a house to get a personality. A personality that mirrors the owner. All the things we have in our homes should be connected to us. Things that mean something to us, a painting, books, a candle holder we got as gifts from our friends or an oversized blue vase that we saw on a flea market and we thought that’s gonna look good in the entryway.

The owner of this house asked me to make it more cozy. The upstairs areas needed full renovation (tell you more about it later) but downstairs I have to admit was charming before too. Basically everything was already there, the items were collected over the years I just pulled out my magic wand and winked a couple of times (haha) just kidding. We bought pillows, baskets, changed some lampshades, filled the walls with art, did some reorganization and voila.

I love how the and changes throughout the day…
