Preparation: The Key to Success
By Simeon Austin David Pangu
Against all odds, they say we'll win
That success is there, if we just begin
But I don't believe that it's so simple
It's not just luck, or a mere ripple
The odds are there, make no mistake
If you don't prepare, you'll be left in their wake
You can't just hope, or simply pray
You have to work hard, each and every day
It's not just talent, or natural skill
It's preparation, the drive and will
To put in the hours, to do the grind
To leave nothing to chance, no room to unwind
In the end, it's not just fate
It's the choices we make, the path we create
So don't just believe, and hope for the best
Prepare, work hard, and put your skills to the test.
For success isn't given, it's earned through your deeds
So don't be afraid of the odds, just plant your seeds
Arsenal My One True Love
By Simeon Austin David Pangu
Arsenal, my true love, forever in my heart,
A passion fierce, a flame that will never depart.
With every goal, with every win,
My heart doth soar, with a mighty din.
Oh, how I love thee, Arsenal, my team,
With every kick, with every dream.
Thy colors red and white, a banner bright,
That fills my soul with unbridled delight.
Through thick and thin, through every trial,
I stand by thee, with a loyal smile.
For in my heart, Arsenal, thou art,
A bond unbroken, a love so stout.
Oh, how the Emirates doth fill with sound,
As we cheer on our team, in victory abound.
And in defeat, we stand tall,
With pride and honor, and love for all.
Arsenal, my true love, how sweet the sound,
Of every victory, of every goal profound.
Thy history rich, thy future bright,
My heart doth soar, in sheer delight.
Here's to thee, Arsenal, my one true love,
May thy banner fly high, in the skies above.
For in my heart, thou'lt always be,
A cherished love, that's forever free.
Who Get To Decide
Simeon Austin David Pangu
Who gets to decide what's right and wrong?
Is it society, with its laws so strong?
Or perhaps the leader, with their power supreme?
Do we trust in ourselves, to follow our own dream?
Some say the answer lies within divine will,
Others argue reason, and a mind so still.
But in this world of complexity and strife,
The truth remains elusive, shrouded in life.
For every choice we make, every path we take,
There's always someone who will choose to debate.
And though we may never find a single truth,
The power to decide lies within each of us, in our own proof.
So let us stand firm, in our own beliefs,
With courage and wisdom, and an unwavering heart.
For in the end, the decision is ours,
To shape our lives, and determine our course.
Coats of Deceit: A Poem on Corruption and Corrupt Politicians
By Simeon Austin David Pangu
In positions of power, they hold the key,
To shape our world, and set it free.
But some, with greed and self-interest, strive,
And the trust that we place, they misapply.
They are the ones, with a coat of deceit,
A disguise of honor, they falsely keep.
For behind their masks, they hide the truth,
And their corruption, they try to mute.
They take our taxes, and use it for their gain,
While the people suffer, in endless pain.
They twist the rules, and bend the laws,
For their own gain, without any flaws.
Their rhetoric, a sly and cunning ploy,
To mislead the masses, and enjoy.
But the irony is, they cannot escape,
The consequences, that come with their shape.
So let us raise our voices, and take a stand,
Against the corruption, in our land.
For it's only with our actions, and our might,
That we can bring an end, to this endless night.
Dangerous Ground
By Simeon Austin David Pangu
Dangerous ground, it's where we tread,
With caution and fear, ahead.
It's where the path is steep and rough,
And we must be careful, enough.
It's where the risks are high and true,
And we must keep a watchful view.
For one misstep, one little slip,
Could send us tumbling, in a quick dip.
It's where the choices we make,
Can have consequences, that we can't fake.
And we must weigh each step we take,
For there's no turning back, once we make.
But despite the dangers that abound,
We must not be afraid, to be found.
For progress is made, on dangerous ground,
And it's where the strongest are found.
So let's gather our courage and our might,
And face the dangers with a steadfast sight.
For it's on dangerous ground, we find our way,
And we'll make our mark, come what may.

The Irony of Humanity
By Simeon Austin David Pangu
Oh humanity, a curious breed,
With ironies in every deed,
Our actions speak of what we lack,
Yet still, we stand with pride on our back.
We build great towers to the sky,
And watch as others crumble, oh so high,
We dream of peace, but make war with glee,
And call it justice, for all to see.
We hoard our wealth, and yet we moan,
For the things we don't have, and have yet to own,
We speak of love, but practice hate,
And condemn those who are different, it's so great.
We fight for freedom, and chain our minds,
And cling to prejudices, of all kinds,
We preach of kindness, but sow discord,
And in our chaos, find a new lord.
Oh humanity, so full of grace,
With rhetoric in every place,
We strive to rise, but fall so low,
And in our irony, we all seem to know.
So let us be mindful, and learn from our past,
And strive for a better future, that will last,
For only by breaking these chains of our mind,
Can we truly be free, and of all irony be blind.
Poem title: Love is...
Simeon Austin David Pangu
Love is a rose, with petals soft and sweet
Its fragrance fills the air, a bouquet so neat
Love is a dove, soaring high in the sky
With wings of grace, it never says goodbye
Love is a song, that echoes in the heart
It never fades, it never falls apart
Love is a light, that guides us through the dark
It shines within us, a constant spark
Love is a fire, that burns with passion bright
It warms the soul, it guides us through the night
Love is a treasure, that we hold dear
It makes our lives, so very dear.
Love is a magic, that makes us feel alive
It fills our hearts, with joy and pride
Love is a gift, that we give and receive
It's the most precious thing, we'll ever believe.
Poem title: My Personality
By Simeon Austin David Pangu
I am a tapestry, a mosaic of hue
A blending of qualities, a rainbow in view
I am a puzzle, a mystery to solve
A mix of contradictions, a mix of involved
I am a writer, with words that flow
But also a dancer, with moves that show
I am a singer, with melodies that ring
But also a painter, with colors that bring
I am a dreamer, with thoughts that take flight
But also a doer, with actions that might
I am a reader, with stories that unfold
But also a listener, with stories yet untold
I am unique, a one-of-a-kind
With a mixed personality and talents that shine
I am myself, and no one can compare
For I am the sum of all that I dare
To be and do and try and see
And that, my dear, makes me unique, just like me.
Poem title: Youths! We've one Sierra Leone
By Simeon Austin David Pangu
Election time has come again
Youth of Sierra Leone, let's refrain
From tribal and partisan sentiment
Let's put our country first, let's be content
The ballot box is where we cast our vote
A peaceful election is what we'll promote
No violence, no anger, no fear
Let's embrace democracy and make it clear
We are one nation, we are one people
Let's rise above hate and let love be the fuel
That drives us forward, that drives us ahead
Let's make a better Sierra Leone, let's not be led
By those who seek to divide us and stir up strife
We are better than that, we have a brighter life
Ahead of us, if we choose to unite
And embrace the power of our collective might
So let's wise up, youth of Sierra Leone
Let's put aside our differences and be shown
That together we can achieve so much more
Peaceful elections, a brighter future, that's what we're in store
For if we stand together, we can make a change
A peaceful election, a brighter tomorrow, that's what we'll arrange.
Poem: Happy New Year
Simeon Austin David Pangu
A new year brings new hope and cheer,
A chance to start anew, and leave the past behind.
So let's embrace the future with open hearts and minds,
And make this year a truly great one, one of a kind.
Let's set our goals and resolutions,
And strive to make them come true.
Let's take the time to appreciate the beauty around us,
And the special people in our lives, old and new.
So here's to a happy new year, full of love and laughter,
May it be filled with blessings, and joy ever after.
Happy New Year!
Poem: New Year Resolution.
Simeon Austin David Pangu
As the year comes to a close,
And a new one begins to unfold,
I make a resolution, a vow to myself,
To be the best version of myself.
I'll focus on the present,
And let go of the past,
I'll embrace every moment,
And make it a moment to last.
I'll set my intentions,
And work towards my goals,
I'll chase my dreams,
And let my spirit unfold.
I'll be kind and compassionate,
To everyone I meet,
I'll spread love and joy,
And try to make life sweet.
I'll be grateful and thankful,
For all the blessings in my life,
I'll cherish every moment,
And never cause any strife.
So here's to the new year,
And all the possibilities it holds,
I'll embrace the unknown,
And all the stories it will unfold.
Poem: Mental Slavery; Emancipate Africa
By Simeon Austin David Pangu
Africa, land of ancient glory
Where the sun rises bright and bold
A place of diversity and story
Where cultures old and new unfold
Yet still we struggle, still we toil
Trapped in mental chains that bind
The weight of history, the endless toil
Leaves us searching for a way to unwind
But let us not despair, let us not give in
To the forces that would keep us down
For we are strong, we are resilient
We can rise up from the ground
Let us emancipate ourselves from mental slavery
Break the chains that hold us back
For we are Africa, proud and mighty
A continent that refuses to crack
Let us rise, let us break free
From the chains that bind our minds
For we are Africa, the land of the free
And our future is one we will find.
We stand on the shoulders of giants
Of those who came before
Their struggles, their triumphs
Form the tapestry of our history's lore
But it is up to us, to forge a new path
To create a future that is bright
One where all are equal, all are free
Where justice and equality take flight
Let us embrace our diversity
Let it be a source of strength and pride
Let us celebrate our differences
And come together, side by side
For we are Africa, a continent of hope
A place where dreams can be realized
Where the possibilities are endless
And our potential, never compromised
Let us rise, let us break free
From the chains that bind our minds
For we are Africa, the land of the free
And our future is one we will find.
Poem "The Legacy of Pele: A Tribute to Football's Great"
By: Simeon Austin David Pangu
Pelle, the great footballer, has passed
Leaving behind a legacy that will surely last
A career filled with triumph and glory
His name will be remembered in football's story
A true legend of the game
His skills and talent were truly tame
He scored goals with ease
Leaving defenders at their knees
But alas, all good things must come to an end
Pele's time on earth has reached its bend
Though he may be gone, his memory will remain
Forever etched in the hearts of football fans
Rest in peace, Pele, you will be missed
But your legacy will continue to exist
Your name will live on through the ages
As one of the greatest footballers of all stages
Poem title: The Joy of Being Single in December.
Vol.1
By: Simeon Austin David Pangu
As December rolls around,
I embrace my singlehood with glee.
No gifts to buy or plans to make,
Just me and my freedom to roam.
I can go out and party all night,
Or stay in and curl up with a book.
No one to answer to or please,
Just me and my own desires to seek.
And in these trying times of recession,
Being single has its perks.
No need to divide my finances,
Just me and my bank account to nurture.
I can travel and explore new places,
Without any ties or commitments to hold me back.
I am free to pursue my dreams and goals,
Just me and my ambition to guide me.
So as the holiday season approaches,
I revel in my solitude and independence.
No stress or worry, just joy and contentment,
Being a single man in December, it's the perfect recipe.
Poem Title:The Beauty of Supporting Arsenal.
By: Simeon Austin David Pangu
The beauty of supporting Arsenal,
Is more than just the wins and goals,
It's the sense of pride and belonging,
That fills our hearts and keeps them humming.
It's the thrill of watching our team play,
The rush of excitement that never fades,
The camaraderie we share with others,
Who also cheer on our beloved brothers.
It's the memories we make and the moments we treasure,
The highs and lows that we all measure,
For being an Arsenal fan is more than just a game,
It's a passion that will always remain.
So here's to Arsenal, our beloved club,
We stand by you, through thick and thin,
For the beauty of supporting you,
Is a love that will always remain true.

A Simeon Austin David Pangu Story
Vol. 2
Dedication and Hard work pay...
The rewards of hard work and dedication are many. They include a sense of accomplishment, a sense of satisfaction, and a sense of pride. Hard work and dedication also lead to personal and professional growth and can help you achieve your goals and dreams. While there are no guarantees in life, if you work hard and dedicate yourself to something, you increase your chances of success. Hard work and dedication are the keys to success in any endeavor, whether it's your personal life or your professional career. When you dedicate yourself to something, you're committing to seeing it through, no matter what. This means you're willing to put in the extra effort required to reach your goal. It also means you're willing to face challenges and setbacks, and you're prepared to withstand whatever life might throw at you.
I lose twice before emerging as the winner of the Intercollegiate poetry competition 2022. The first time I lost was in 2022 during the COVID-19 Pandemic. It wasn't easy I must confess, but I man up, congratulate the winners, and applaud the organizers for adding value to poetry. child. it was not an Intercollegiate Poetry Competition but rather a poetry competition. I got mocked by close friends and the like.
Instead of quitting, I made it upon myself that I must prove my point by applying the following year. I love poetry and I'll never quit writing poems.
Writing poetry helped me to make sense of my emotions and to express myself healthily.
My second attempt didn't make it to the quarterfinals. I never received a call or email from the organizers.
The third time is the charm. On my third attempt, I once again made it to the finals, I believe in myself and my confidence level is unmatched. But it was a competition and I was on the edge of my sit until the very moment I was announced as the winner.
I was elated. I had worked so hard for this moment and it had finally paid off. It meant so much to me to be able to share my love of poetry with the world and to be recognized for my talent. This win was especially sweet because it wasn't my first time competing in a poetry competition, but it was the first ever Intercollegiate poetry competition organized by The Discovering the Hidden Pens Poetry Organization. I had always loved poetry, and winning it, means a whole lot to me. When I found out about the competition, I decided to give it a shot for the last time as a result of the criteria, but I am so glad I did.
Today am celebrated by many because I never chose to quit. And thus my dedication and hard work pay off.
