Youth For Somalia is awarding Zahra Qorane Omar for making her person of the year 2015.
Although most people believe that Mogadishu city is a dangerous place, she learnt many things during her life in Mogadishu.
Zahra Qorane Omar, was born in Beledweyne, Hiiraan, central of Somalia, She grew up in Mogadishu and finished all her primary, secondary and university education in Mogadishu
Zahra Qorane is Aslo a youth activist a photographer and role model for many young people in Somalia she uses her camera as a tool for positive change in social.
Zahra believes that the future of this country “Somalia” depends on the young generation Also she learnt the meaning of loving a country, regardless to its situation.
“I have a bachelor degree of Social science, I love writing and doing photography. I decided to start taking pictures of the beautiful places of Mogadishu, to show the world the untold stories through my lenses. I see my camera as my weapon to fight the negative image that dominated the scene of my city, and I still preach that Mogadishu is worth to be lived in and to be loved”
