LipsStick
A Surinamese Rockband LipsStick is a Surinamese rock band from Paramaribo, formed by the sisters Chavelli and Loรซlle Monsanto in 2007.
They started
off as an all-female rock band named "The Aphrodites". After some changes in the formation, the name of the band was changed to "LipsStick". They compose all music themselves and the vocal lines are also the result of their own creativity.
15 years ago, on November 5th, LipsStick was created by the sisters Chavelli and Loรซlle Monsanto who had a dream to write their own music and rock on an international stage with an all-female band. That dream turned into a great ambition after a few succesful years of writing and performing in the local rock scene. ๐ฉโ๐ค
However, with success also comes downfall and LipsStick endured some rocky times because of many different reasons. In the end, it was decided to close this chapter with one last show and that it was time to grow up.
Which we did.
And after almost 5 years of inactivity, bandleader Loรซlle reconnected in the Netherlands with core member Fariel Soeleiman and that spark got reignited again. ๐ค
