So many independent artists work hard to get a record label, but when the deal comes, they become lazy.

When they are independent
*They drop songs almost every month.
*They jump on any competition or free beat.
*They beg influencers for a repost.

But when they are signed, they think it is where it ends probably because they might have gotten a furnished apartment, bling bling, New Clothes and every beautiful girl they admired is now tripping for them.
For the record, Record Labels are not Charity Organizations who wants to just help you, rather they are business ventures with the sole aim of making profit, every money spent on you (as an artist) even to the w**d you smoked in the studio is a loan and you are expected to payback with interest.
When the artist leaves the label and didn't become successful for the label to recoup their profit out of the deal, some clauses like "taking 100% of royalties until profit is made" might be activated.

Do you know contracts of a signed artist demands
*The artist should be prompt in reporting to the studio.
*Be able to record a minimum number of songs within a period of time.
And each recorded song will be checkmated for quality lyrical contents and deliveries, (sometimes the label might employ the services of a song writer) but if the recorded songs dosen't meet label's quality, the song will be termed void and artist will go back to the studio, which may attract additional fees thereby adding up to the expenses.

Record deals are not bed of roses, don't think is the end of your problem as an artist, rather is the beginning of quality work.

I am praying for you to get signed by label that is willing to promote you and I still advice you to put in more work when you are signed, don't get carried away.
