If you remember my post from the other week about the Cookery School at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, I told you all that I’d also be posting about the afternoon tea at Le Manoir! After our morning cookery lesson we were given a tour of the beautiful grounds at Le Manoir, and then treated to the most delicious treats in the conservatory.

The desserts were INCREDIBLE! I absolutely loved the Macaron with cinnamon cream, the Mishti Doi (Baked/steamed yoghurt with mango curd), and the Pistachio Cake with a rosewater marshmallow.

Barcelona
A perennial favorite with travelers, Barcelona might be best seen in the fall, when temperatures have dipped and crowds have thinned. Cheaper roundtrip airfares are also a perk, with Expedia's report showing autumn ticket prices dipping by almost 30 percent. Nonstops from Chicago in October are less than $800, while direct flights from New York are ranging in the $600s. In the slower season, tourist must-sees like La Sagrada Familia are sure to be less hectic. Or maybe you'll want to join locals for a late-night seating at one of the city's best tapas bars.

Portland, Oregon
Craft breweries, a vibrant food scene, and wines of the Willamette Valley all beckon in Portland. Even better is the fact that average airfares are dropping by almost 35 percent. Nonstop flights from New York are as low as $462 in October. Because winters stay mild, you'll still be able to take advantage of all of the area's natural wonders on a fall trip. Consider a visit just outside the city to the waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge or go a bit farther to the Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood, where skiing is possible all year round.
