One of the primary dangers of overgrown trees along roads is the obstruction of visibility. Branches that hang low or extend into the road can block drivers' views of traffic signs, signals, and other vehicles. This can lead to accidents, as drivers may not have enough time to react to changing traffic conditions

Keeping our roads safe needs a collaborative approach. Drivers, pedestrians, and passengers are all road users and have a crucial road in ensuring that our roads are safe for all. Livestock remains a concern within our road networks. As we approach the winter season, farmers are reminded to ensure there is no cattle loitering on road reserves. The Road Safety Unit will continue making routine checks on the roads. Livestock left unattended will be impounded, and the owner will face a fine for that livestock.

The council was invited to a crime and accidents prevention campaign organized by Royal Eswatini Police Service and other Road safety stakeholders, held at Methula Inkhundla.
Part of the facilitation emphasized on the importance of keeping livestock away from road reserves. This has led to a significant number of road accidents, yet it can be prevented. Members of the public were reminded to follow all road safety measures and adhere to them as this will not only protect their lives but will ensure the safety of all road users.
Rain significantly reduces visibility on the roads, making it harder for drivers to spot other vehicles, pedestrians, and obstacles. Keeping headlights on increases their visibility to others and makes it easier for them to be seen.
