The Chiang Mai International Rotary Club is Chiang Mai's first English-speaking club and joins District 3360 to serve the community following Rotary International's motto: "Service Above Self." We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at the Royal Peninsula Hotel (www.royalcnxgroup.com) at 7:00 PM. For more about the club, go to www.cmirotary.org.
Tonight's annual game night was a huge success, and we owe a big thank you to Membership Chair Myrna Muyana for her fantastic organization.
Past President Viki Thomason filled in for President Dylan Thomason. The two ladies orchestrated a memorable evening that embodied the Rotarian four-way test's "fictitious 5th point" by taking fun seriously. President Dylan's contribution of eggnog added the perfect touch, putting us all in a joyful holiday mood!
We had banner exchanges with visiting Rotarians from France and welcomed a Rotaractor from Japan.
This Tuesday, we were honored to welcome representatives from Daughters Rising, led by Founder Alexa Bay. They shedded light on the organization's anti-human trafficking efforts and charitable programs supporting IDPs and marginalized populations with special focus on vulnerable women and girls.
Excitingly, we had two prospective members join us, adding to our Rotary family's strength! Additionally, a heartfelt moment as a Rotarian from France engaged in a banner exchange, symbolizing our global connections and shared commitment.
Let's keep growing together and making a positive impact!
Last night at our regular CMIRC meeting, Past President Dylan stepped up to fill in the role of the acting president. We proudly inducted Matthew Matson as a new member.
Colin Jarvis shared insights on improving English education in Thailand, sparking meaningful discussions.
We had the pleasure of hosting Rotarians from Nantucket, MA, and Japan, strengthening our global connections, and even enjoyed a banner exchange.
After the thrilling Golf Ball Drop, it was time to let loose and enjoy some fun! Adults and children alike had the incredible opportunity to ascend in the balloon, and it felt just like riding in a giant lift. The result? Pure joy and unforgettable moments!
Thank you all for being a part of this fantastic day, and sharing these special memories.

Besides the word Rotarian, what's the next word that catches your eye or specifically resonates with you?
Here’s a repost from one of our previous speakers who talked about & demonstrated drones…
she was particularly impressed by the Rotary 4 way Test
Simple but says it all:
“I had a great time talking about drones to the Rotary Club Southwest in Austin today at lunch. We had a show and tell and even flew the Tello drone in the room.
-I was reminded of the Rotary Four Way test. The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:
Of the things we think, say or do
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
That's a good test!
