In Loving Memory of Rodney Graham 1949 – 2022
Rodney Graham was a true polymath, steeped in art, music, film, literature, psychoanalysis and popular culture. Born and based in Vancouver, he emerged during the 1970s as a radical pioneer of lens-based media, albeit with the ability to skewer and further the conceptual and minimal art practices prevalent in New York. Over the course of five decades, his work evolved continuously in materials, subjects and intention, but can always be said to be performative. Graham revealed a myriad of insights into social and historical cultures throughout his career-long staging of a panoply of imagistic and collagistic possibilities.
Our heartfelt thoughts are with his mother Janet Graham; sister Lindsay Graham; brother Alan Graham; partner Jill Orsten; Shannon Oksanen, Scott Livingstone, and their children Ray and Coco Livingstone.

This Work of Hajri is particularly moving and of an incredible force
It's called Naked as a Donkey now on view at Gallery
Funny title isn't it?
But the fable tells, (if it can be considered as such), the story of the human being.
the man with a capital H. Complex frame where
Intellectual, cultural, ethical baggage instruments, rites and traditions are intertwined...in short, his imagination.
A permanent and continuous struggle:
Between: what is acquired and what is to be acquired,
(Note that the imaginary is not
imagination but social identity.).
So the question arises?
