For the first time in forever we have no independence day parade to commemorate this momentous day 😥😦 if that doesn't cement the perilous times we currently live in I don't know what will. In spite of all this we should celebrate all the achievements T&T has made as an independent Republic and as citizens we have a responsibility to work together to ensure a prosperous future for our young ones 🙂😉.

Hi all! I know it's been a whiillleee 😃😃, hope you guys are being safe throughout this pandemic. I've been taking some time off jewelry making for several reasons but I would like to assure everyone the business is very much alive, I'm just taking time to decide on my next steps. Covid 19 has been brutal economically and given that Fabrique by Mel Sparks is a small business the strain of the pandemic has taken it's toll 🤷🤷.
Hey if business was easy everyone would do it, 😩 needless to say finding ways to navigate and adjust in this ever changing future is a milestone that needs to be well thought out before it can be executed. Who knew 2020 would have been such a rollercoaster? 😅😅 Thank you everyone for your continued support and to my new followers, I see you! Welcome and I hope you like what Fabriqué by Mel Sparks has to offer 👍.

The world is in chaos but we can all find comfort in doing the things that bring us peace (providing it involves a whole lot of social distancing 😃😃). Whew! It's been a while guys, Happy New Year! I haven't been making as much jewelry recently but all is not lost, this year I intend to get back into the groove of making new designs however it's a process.

This is another favorite piece of mine for 2019! Each component of the set was carefully designed to compliment the other and guess what? It worked! Sometimes with sets it's a challenge to get the colors and design just right but when the right combination fits perfectly the final outcome can be impressive.

Another of my latest creations! Sometimes I think some colors look better with gold accents and this is one of them, these little bracelets are not only elegant but can also offer protection against negative energy (well according to ancient folklore).

As stated in a video I posted earlier this week, I'll be on a brief hiatus from social media in order to regroup and think up more creative designs 😏😏😌, I believe sometimes a little down time is necessary to avoid burn out don't you?

This is such a favorite piece of mine, I made it some time ago and never had the nerve to part with it. 😆😄.
Ever since I made it I've been searching for beads like the ones I used to replicate the look (even if it may be in a different color) but I've been unsuccessful so far 🤔🤔🤔. Guess I unintentionally made a limited edition piece 🤷🤷.

It's always great getting feedback from customers 😁🙂, it encourages me to continue producing quality work and makes me determined to make Fabriqué by Mel Sparks a success! Thank you to all my current and future supporters, I will forever be grateful. 😊

So my mini adventure has come to an end 😀😩😢, I had a great time and look forward to further spontaneous activities like this in the not too distant future. Now it's time for me to get back to the drawing board and do what I do best...Design!

As an artisan it is sometimes a struggle to come up with creative designs. A lot of hard work goes into making a piece, the finished look is a by product of multiple tries and in some cases failures.
This morning I discovered that an individual decided to use one of my photos as their profile picture without my permission or without crediting my business page in any way. Feeling uneasy about this development I kindly requested the individual remove the photo as I felt as though this was an infringement on my intellectual property. Below is the response to that request.
Please note that while I post images of my work on this platform it should be understood that credit should be given to the original creator of any artistic work as this is ethical and legally advised.

Nature is a wonderful thing, it's even more beautiful when you take the time to enjoy it. This is just one of the pretty flowers I passed while at Devon House, I couldn't resist taking a quick pic!

It's always great to take a break every now and then and enjoy the world around you. I've been in de-stress mode these past few days and I love it 😀. I have to remind myself to do things like this more often 👍.

So I'm on an impromptu break from jewelry making for a bit, in short I've been busy behind the scenes and haven't been able to post as I normally do 😢. I'll get back on track soon (hopefully) in the interim I'll keep you posted on my tour of the lovely island of Jamaica!
