9 years after she's still the teacher with the largest heart.Meet my first primary school, first-year teacher Ms.Janice Beharry. If ever anyone other than my parents took a keen interest in me was none other than Ms.Janice.First day in Ms. Janice's class she always let me know I have the potential for great things. It is these strong role models that make me the person I am today and I strive to be the best of myself. I remember it as if it was yesterday, my family and I found out at that time, a not so exciting news and Ms.Janice called me to the side and asked me if everything was ok and don't worry im strong enough and everything will be ok. Today, her words were she always wondered what happened to me and what school I passed for, after my transfer. Im sure with her gentle hug and beautiful smile, I made her proud.
Ms.Janice, I want to thank you for being a great teacher you were to me and all the other kids before, during, and after me. I know all those kids will have the same kind words, to express as me.
Today, I also found out that SJCSF is her Alma mater and her daughter is one of my elder SJCSF sisters.

Every 24 October, the United Nations Day is celebrated all over the world to commemorate the anniversary of the official creation of the United Nations through the 1945 UN Charter.

The significance of United Nations Day lies in its celebration of diversity. It is an official day to appreciate the diversity of cultures, religions, and languages all over the world. On this day, countries come together to spread ideas of peace and harmony among people who originate from various backgrounds.

The Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 to end poverty, reduce inequality and build more peaceful, prosperous societies by 2030. Also known as the Global Goals, the SDGs call for a world where no one is left behind ,for every child – now and for generations to come.

This year's theme revolves around faster, bolder climate action and intends to galvanize world leaders ahead of the COP28 climate conference.
Happy United Nations Day 2023.

World Food Day

Food brings people together in a huge variety of ways, from family gatherings to first dates. Everyone has a favorite food, with varieties ranging from pizza to pasta, cookies to cakes, and all of the good stuff in between! So many amazing dishes and ingredients are available to indulge in today, and World Food Day celebrates them all.

World Food Day is not only about celebrating the amazing food that people have the privilege of indulging in, but it is about raising awareness for people who do not have such privilege. People all over the world who suffer from hunger. Starvation is a massive problem in a number of countries, and we need to do more to raise awareness and combat this problem.

World Food Day can also be leveraged to raise awareness about healthy diets and what bodies need. In recent times, education has grown about healthy diets and which foods are healthy or unhealthy, but we are not there yet! World Food Day offers a great opportunity to further education and awareness in this area.

History of World Food Day
World Food Day was established in 1945 by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), a specialized agency of the United Nations. But it would be another 34 years before it was recognized as a world holiday at the 20th FAO conference in November 1979. Following this, 150 countries proceeded to celebrate the day once it gained its official recognition by the United Nations. Since 2014, the popularity of the day has been used to promote the idea of feeding the world and eliminating poverty in rural nations.

The main principle World Food Day celebrates is the furtherance of food security all over the globe, especially in times of crisis. The launch of the Food and Agriculture Organization by the UN has played a huge role in taking this worthy goal forward. Its annual celebration serves as a marker of the importance of this organization and helps to raise awareness of the crucial need for successful agriculture policies to be implemented by governments across the world to ensure there is ample food available for everyone.

In recent years, World Food Day has used its annual day of celebration to focus on different aspects of food security and agriculture, including fishing communities, climate change and biodiversity.

World Food Day is a reminder that coming together with friends and family around a well-set table is a privilege that not everyone can enjoy, but is one that everyone should experience.

Happy World Food Day.

Congratulations brother
I knew you could have done it.
When I was a little girl I heard everyone saying you're a special child, and I didn't think much of it but then I grew up a little bigger and understand what it meant, I swore to myself I will be the best big sister you will ever need. then I grew a little bigger and thought to myself there is something really special about you. I watched you cry when you did your first practice paper and score 75%, I told you dont worry and keep trying you will get better. And you did from 70s to 80s to 90s. You did it brother, you bypass primary school by two years. When I wrote SEA and awaits my result you pray for me and the night I got my result and I woke you up, you said 'I Know you will get your first choice Anna'.Brother I always know, if you sit the SEA, you would have passed for your first choice. Dont worry too much secondary school going to be ok. You are strong, kind, and smart. We are going to get through our other stage of life, we are going to be the dynamic duo the world never knew they needed. Love you and you will always be my best friend.
